Question about Asko 1595 Dishwasher

1 Answer

Control Board bad

I have a Asko 1595 with a blown main control board. I work in electronics and may be able to fix it. (A new one is more than the cost of a new lower priced dishwasher.) Is there anyplace I can get a schematic diagram for it and/or a parts listing for the board compotents?(in particular a certain transistor.)

Most of the time there is a schematic behind the kick plate or the door skin but it wont tell you the value or the resistors.but theres normally another cause for the board to blow.is the rinse aid leaking into the door skin,or wires starting to break in the door.the boards are normally sold complete.I work for asko and find the boards dont normally fail by themselves.hopt this helps.

Fisher and Paykel Dishwasher beeps while it washes dishes. Any solution?

Here is a suggestion: I had problems with the top drawer on a model 603I, I found that the control board under the drawer cover (at the upper right corner) had a broken latch. This allowed the control board assembly to drop down at the right side which caused the electronic eyes at the side of the drawer to become misaligned. This was giving false information to the control board indicating that the drawer wasn't closed properly. My problem was fixed by securing the control board back in place making sure the electronic eyes were lined up properly. (Note: The electronic eyes I am referring to include two clear plastic tubes about an inch and a half long to the right of the control board. These tubes must be properly lined up with the led and photocell on the side of the control board) It sounds complicated but if you take the drawer cover off you will notice the control board alignment immediately. Its an easy fix if this is your problem. One way to fix it is to take a piece of string and tie the board back in place. (That's what I fixed mine with and it has worked like new ever since.) NOTE: MAKE SURE THE POWER IS TURNED OFF BEFORE YOU BEGIN THIS REPAIR!

Frigidaire dishwasher stuck on wash cycle, doesn't complete - model # FDB1050reb0

This model doesn't use a timer like older types, The element is turned on and off by the electronics and a failed board can cause the symptoms mentioned, thee is no real way to test the board as the integrated electronics are quite complicated. The board is easy to replace, if you can use basic tools you would be able to manage it.
The dishwasher is cold fills so heats it's own water so the hot water temperature in the house has no impact on the dishwasher.

My Asko D1716 dishwasher works fine apart from the soap dispenser. It won't open to release the soap.

Most likely it's a corroded door catch or a bad solenoid. Hopefully it's not the main control board. You'll need a repair manual or technician. A work around would be to use detergent tablets in the compartment

Asko dishwasher starts and immediatly stops

Hi mike, thanks for the clarification. Having this info, I am not sure this model is as the post indicates - "1595". Is it possibly a 1473 or 1474 model with a power button by the door handle ? If so, that is the most common problem with that style Asko. The contacts inside the button make momentary contact & then stop which requires replacing tge switch. Let me know if it is indeed one of these models or confirm what model number it is ok ? Thanks, Macmarkus

When I start my dishwasher it will initally drain any residual water and then add clean water but will not wash the dishes.

I had the same problem and replaced the control board - problem solved. The good news is it's easy to replace; the bad news is a replacement board costs almost $300.

ASKO D3350 Dishwasher won't work. Electrical burning smell coming from top of door near control panel, no lights functioning

possible failure of electronic board expensive to fix. May even be suprresion capacitor. A lot of brands used suppression caps on the ac input to filter out unwanted noise. When these blow they stink and some even arc but one thing is sure they cut the power to the rest of the dwasher may even throw out your power.Make sure it is switched off and unplugged before dismantling it.

Asko 1895

First make sure your door switch is making proper contact. If not replace it. If it checks out ok than your main control board is bad.

Asko D1796 will not start properly

It sounds as if you may have A bad control board. It could be causing the heater element to come on when its not supposed to (usually a stuck relay) and not filling the machine with water. you could also have a bad control board AND a bad fill valve, as a stuck relay for the heater shouldn't affect the fill valve circuit. The bad news is that these asko control boards are $350 to $450 for just the part, the good news is that the control board is under a 5 year warranty (for only the part, not the labor to change it) as are the pump motors and any timers. Also, if you are just out of warranty, find your date of installation, as asko warranties start when you install it, not when you buy it (if you moved into the house and it was there when you moved in, and you are the first owner, submit a date of occupancy and that's when your warranty started)
