Hi,
Your problem sounds like either a bad safety gas valve or a bad coil on the valve.
If i can help with anything else please let me know.

DOESNT HEAT AND I SMELL GAS

Hello - From what you are describing, if the dryer only heats up sometimes but provides a gas odor, it could possibly be a defective gas supply or igniter. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the fuse for the dryer. Turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If it proves to be ineffective and if the issue continues I suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. Keep in mind since it is such a complex unit, the technician will likely verify that it doesn't have a defective sensor, control board or high limit thermostat.

Evap system leak

First thing everyone tries is a new gas cap. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it's the easiest thing to try. Did you drive it with the gas cap off or maybe loose? That will trip the code and it will take a few ignition cycles to clear it or have a shop clear it with a scan tool and drive it some more. EVAP codes on GM vehicles can be a pain to locate if it's anything more than a gas cap issue. Don't buy an aftermarket gas cap though. Spend the extra few bucks and get an OEM one.

Have gas smell outside and sometimes inside car. Some one said could possibly be cabin air filter?

Hi there!

Usually when the car doesn't burn the gas as it should and the cylinders gets flooded with gas and this can be caused but a leaky Injector or a Bad MAP sensor, Vacuum leak or bad fuel regulator.

Good luck

My pool heater doesn't come on. The pilot is lit, and the valve to the ON position. I turn the front knub to heat but when I turn the switch on the front panel to ON it doesn't fire on (...

If your pilot light is lit, then you do have some gas flow, so it is probably the thermocoupler (the part heated by the pilot light) that is not telling the gas valve to open the main line. Sometimes it is just a case of residue on the thermocoupler that is not letting it get up to temperature and sometimes it has been knocked out of alignment and the pilot light is not putting direct heat on it.

A cleaning with steel wool (don't overdo it) would take care of the residue, and you can GENTLY move the thermocoupler back over the pilot flame. If neither of that helps then replace the thermocoupler.
