This is likely a govenor problem. Some of these problems are caused by a lost spring on the govenor linkage.

When I try to start my 1994 WR250, 2 stroke, it takes a million kicks, or 3 or 4 good pushes down a steep hill, popping the clutch. When I do get it started, once it warms up it will idle, and start back...

Sounds like a combination of leaking fuel tap and old fuel.

When you park it overnight or longer, pull the fuel hose off the carb , and drain the carb bowl.
So when you next ride it, reconnnect the fuel line, turn on the fuel tap long enough to fill the carb, 10 secs, then turn it off to start the bike, turn it back on when the bike starts.
even if you replace the fuel tap this process can help.

I had to replace the gas tank on my stihl km 110r. After I replaced it the throttle is locked on high the moment I pull the start cord. It runs on nearly full power and then after a while starts to cut out...

the return spring on the carburator is come undone. this should be a light spring that pulls the butterfly closed and pulls against the wire from the throttle control and the arm that hooks the butterfly to the auto throttle advance. look for a loose spring and then make sure that both ends of the throttle control cable move and are hooked up. you should see the butterfly on the carb. move back and forth when you change throttle position.

Runs like ****, backfires and chugs, no power

Several possibles: Plug wires arcing (run engine in a very dark area and open hood to see is there is arcing) Bad coil (same test look for arcing sometimes you can hear spark jumping) Distributor cap arcing inside or outside ( remove cap and inspect for carbon tracks inside cap). Module inside distributor bad (not too expensive to replace). Lean toward wires or coil.

Just bought a 2001 yamaha yzf 426 how do start

For a cold start, turn fuel on at fuel tap. Pull out the choke knob. slowly kick the kickstarter until you feel it become harder(more resistance). push past this resistance then release the kickstarter. What you have done is put the piston in the position just after top dead centre of the compression stroke. Now give it a big kick whilst opening the throttle slightly. There is a real techneque to it so don't think your the only one who has problems! Otherwise, ask your local Yammy dealer for a look at the owners manual. It has a description on how to both hot & cold start your bike. They may let you photocopy it. Good luck.
If it just isn't happening try removing the sparkplug, put it back in the plug cap, rest the plugs metal body on the cylinder head (don't hold it there or you could get a nasty shock) Now kick the kickstarter while watching the sparkplug gap. Did it spark? If it didn't theres a problem. No spark means it wont run! Then you'll need to find out why theres no spark. Hope this helps to get you started Otherwise let us know and i'll se what else I can suggest.

My 2003 yz250 runs full throttle as soon as it is started. Checked the obvious stuff - carb throttle....it started revving out of control intermitantly now its full time. Any ideas?

3 things... First twist the throttle rapidly and listen for the carb slide to move up and down,, ya should hear a clicking in the carb... if so slide ok.. Sure bout the throttle cable ? At grip ? When starting the bike takes alot of kicks to get started ? As if were flooded ?

Fan running constantly in the house

Check t-stat and make sure fan is set to "Auto", that might be why fan is running all the time, or it could be a fan relay that is stuck closed. It sounds like you A/C is over charged or you have a bad high pressure switch, this was a common problem with this manufacture especially in the heat mode.

i would replace the accelerator cable. After almost ten years im sure that wire encased by that plastic sheath has a lot of **** in it. Not letting the cable move freely inside of it.
