If you "popped" the power supply, I would check to see if the RAM might have taken a hit as well. Ram chips and CPU are sensitive when it comes to power surges. I would troubleshoot the system, unplug everything. you need monitor, power, cpu, and ram (1 at a time). Check to see if the system will POST. if you do get it to POST, start with 1 item at a time and see if the system will POST every time. If nothing happens, there is a chance you may have a damaged motherboard or cpu.

Problem starting my 1956 international harvester 300 utility tractor

Thanks for the info. You need to make sure the tracter is in neutral before you start any of the followig checks;try crossing the power post[the one the battery cable that comes from thepositive post]to the smaller solenoid post to see if it turns over,if yes then your not gettig enough power from either the ingition switch its self or a safety switch has a high resistance and needs replaceing. If the tractor just clicked then you need to jump the power post with the post that goes into the starter,if nothing happens you need a starter,if it spins good you need a solenoid or there are bad cable connections either to the battery posts or to the negative post or engine block.Let me know how you make out.

What does No Power/No POST Troubleshooting mean

Hi.
It refers to two symptoms. No power just means the machine is dead and nothing happens when you press the power button on the computer. POST stands for Power On Self Test. This is what happens just after you press the power button - the computer checks devices connected to it then starts to load Windows or whatever operating system you have. If the computer is dead, then it is often caused by a faulty power supply (metal box where the power cord goes in. If it won't POST then an error may be displayed to tell you where it stopped during POST, or error beeps may sound to tell the technician which part of POST has failed. Sometimes, you may hear the fans and hard disk, but the monitor stays dead. This is usually caused by the RAM coming loose in it's socket or the video card coming loose/ failing.
