I installed a new black ink cartridge and now it won't print black even though it shows its full on in levels

If your black cartridge was empty for any length of time before you replaced it, even if it was still installed in the printer, chances are that the black print head nozzle has dried ink in it. Cleaning may or may not resolve the problem, but cleaning also uses obscene amounts of ink. Epson printers are notorious for clogs since they have some of the smallest print head nozzle sizes (thus their high dpi resolution).
There are some Youtube videos that suggest ways to clean severely clogged Epson print heads. I cannot vouch for them as I have never tried them, but you can view them and decide for yourself.

My Epson Stylus R300 will not print black

The problem is either with the black cartridge or with black printheads.

First test a new black cartridge, possibly original, to ensure it is not the cartridge.
Perform a print head cleaning procedure using the printer tools in Winsdows, do this a couple of times.
If it did not work you will need to replace the print head or to take the printer to a repair shop.

Will not print black only. Changed ink cartridge 3 times, performed all maintenance repeatedly, but will still not print black ink.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required. Also try - Removing the print head, run it under hot water for 2 mins, then let soak for 10 min. then used a can of compressed air to dry thoroughly. It may fix the blocked nozzles.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

I CANNOT PRINT BLACK ON MY EPSON STYLUS PHOTO R200. All other colors print. I have replaced all the cartridges. This is my forth attempt at trying to contact you people. CAN YOU HELP ME?

this issue may have several causes:
1. make sure that you've removed the yellow ribbon from the top of the cartridge before installing it. it is there to keep the ink fresh before it's installed and has to be removed to enable the ink to flow into the print head. (not all epson cartridges have this ribbon though)
2. check all the settings in the printer driver or simply remove the current driver completely and reinstall the latest driver you can find on the epson site.
3. the black print head may be clogged. in this case, performing cleanings will help, possibly several cleanings are necessary
4. there may be a faulty connection between the printer's mainboard and the print head.
5.there may be an electronical problem with either the print head or the mainboard.

in the last two options it's better to let a professional technician look at it.

Possibility is that the nozzle might have been clogged. try to perform a cleaning cycle for about 3 to 4 times if it still does not work reseat the ink cartridge affected

Wont print black but colors are fine,

Clean heads, clean heads, clean heads, etc. Then do the test print to see if the heads are open. I had similar problem with an Epson, had to clean the heads often, finally got to where the heads wouldn't clean so threw it away and bought another one (HP this time, the heads are included in the ink carts, haven't had to clean the heads at all.)

Ink Cartridge

Some of Epson's cartridges went bad that way. It may be a bad cartridge. Get a new one, pull that one out and see what happens. If it works, call Epson for a refund. They had a class action suit for that type of thing, they lost and paid off. I would think they will help you right away.

Printer cartridge problem

I have a 440 and have had the same problem. Of course, I have been using cartridges from Printpal, Inkgrabber, etc. that are not official Epson. I have found that it takes several cleanings and after the cartridge has been in the position for the ink to go down it will start. My last order from Printpal said to set all the cartridges in the position they are in when installed in the printer for several days prior to installation. Of course, every cleaning of the print head uses up more of your ink. You don't have much choice though.
