HI. This code is in reference to your inlet valve assembly. There may be an obstruction, or the actual inlet assembly may be malfunctioning. Use the procedure below to help guide you through the necessary inspection.

The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it at the back of the washer. Start by turning off the water supply at the valves on the wall. Disconnect both hoses from the back of the washer. Place the hoses into a bucket and turn them on to confirm that you are receiving proper water pressure and to clear out any debris from the line.

Inspect the filter screens on both the hoses and the inlet valve for debris build up. If you find any debris, clean it out. Use caution to avoid damaging the filter screens because the screens in the valve are not replaceable.

If debris was not present then proceed to the next step of testing the solenoids. Access to the valve may be easiest by opening the top or the back of the washer, depending upon make and model.

There are two wires connected to each solenoid on the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip-on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals ( Be sure to not pull the wires). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

Use a multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. Test the second one in the same way as the first.

IE keeps coming up on our front load washer

On most washers, IE error means that the washer is not seeing proper hot and/or cold water inputs. Check the hoses for kinks. Ensure the water valves are fully open. If these are not faulty, turn off the water, remove the hoses at the back of the washer, and check the input filter screens for clogging. This is a common problem.

LG trom wASHER wm20160W WONT DRAIN

Start by getting to the drain on the pump there should be a hose hooked to the pump and there may be a filter that u can clean out. Check the pipe and make sure it is clear and also check the discharge hose to be sure it is clear as well. By the way do u hear the pump come on or try to. If lines are clear and the pump is running then you most likely have a bad pump,

What does the IE error code mean? The washer wont drain.

The IE fault code indicates that your washer is not filling properly with water This error code is displayed if the washer is not fully drained within 10 minutes. I will give you troubleshooting tips for both the fill problem and the drain problem.

To troubleshoot a drain problem, follow these steps:

  • Follow the steps on page 17 of your owner's manual to clean the drain pump filter. If you do not have your owner's manual, you can access it on our Manage My Home website.
  • Check your drain hose for kinks or clogs.
  • Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed according to the installation instructions for your washer.

Here are some troubleshooting steps for the filling problem:

  • Make sure that the water valves behind your washer are fully open.
  • Check the filter screens on the inlet valves where your fill hoses connect to the back of the washer. If debris is clogging the screens, remove the screens and thoroughly clean them. Flush the inlet openings thoroughly with water to prevent debris from entering the washer and corrupting the inlet water valves.
  • A drain installation problem can cause siphoning of washer fill water. Make sure that the drain hose is properly installed per the installation guidelines for your washer.

You are probably using too much soap and softner. You only need about 1 Tablespoon of each for a full load with a front load machine. Run it with nothing it in except bleach. If you see bubbles inside that means there's left over soap in the tub. Keep running it empty (with bleach) until you don't see bubbles anymore then start using less soap and softner.

LG Trom wm2077gw OE error code and won't come off and empty macine I washed a comforter and it shredded part of it and is stuck on OE what does this mean and how do I fix it. Thanks

OE means it has not fully drained with in 10 mins. You may have something in the drain. Open the little door on the front, ust the small hose to drain it first, then take out the button trap. If you don't see anything, you can also check your drain hoses and if you want tilt back the unit, support it with something and look in the bottom hose make sure you don't have a sock or something there.

Washer

Anne,

The lint filter is clogged preventing the pump from draining all the water from the tub. Open the little panel on the front lower left of the machine, unscrew the lint filter and clean it. Make sure you drain the trapped water first (before you remove the filter), by pulling out the little rubber hose (you'll see it) and removing the plug from the end.
