Hi... The 3 plug cable is better as long as you match all the colors at both ends.

If there is left over stuff on the laser lens , it wont read the disk

Why did left speaker stop working?

If the speaker is not defective, a common problem with the AWR1CG and P models is liquid damaged circuitry. Where openings in the top case appear over the circuitry, spilled liquid drips down and may damage, or over time badly corrode, the circuit board traces, small through-connections, and/or electronic components. This is not a repair an untrained/experienced person should attempt. We service many of these liquid damaged units with good success rate. CET Services, 117 Windsor Ave, Hurley, WI 54534 //

I hooked up my wii on av1 with a component cable with audio on audio 1 and i have sound but no picture.

If I am reading this right, you are only hooking up one cable for audio. There is another cable needed for video. This jack is normally color coded yellow and labeled video out/in. You can use your audio cable to try this and then you will picture but no audio.

Hookup Blu ray player to Onkyo pre-amp for speakers

If you have audio out jacks from your tv, you would be better served hooking that up to the preamp. If you hook up the blu-ray player separately to both the tv and amp, the audio probably will not sync with the video correctly. The tv takes longer to decode the hdmi input and the audio will be ahead.

I was hooking up my sisters surround reciever for her and used an optical cable to the reciever from the TV. Her TV gets signal from the cable box via coax and uses HDMI from DVD player. I am stumped that...

srry but the tv is not capable of sending hdmi audio through its outputs the dvd player audio must be run through rca red and white or black if you have digital audio out to the back of the receiver on its own channel

I spilled liquid in the receiver, now it flashes on then shuts down. Is there a fuse I can replace or is it shot?

There are fuses, but they are OK. You've damaged the receiver, it's starting to fire up and then see's a short circuit so it's shutting down to protect itself. It needs shop service unless your in electronics.

I have audio but no video whyen a disc is

Turn off all devices in the video chain, INCLUDING your Xbox.
Unplug and re-plug ALL connectors, making certain that they all go in all the way.
Turn on everything.
If that does not fix it, then something is busted.
Remove anything between the TV and the Xbox and try it again.
If that does not work, either the TV or the Xbox is busted.
Try hooking up a DVD player to the SAME EXACT TV input.
If that works, your Xbox is busted, go buy a new one.
If that fails, go buy a new TV or try using another input on that TV.

I'm trying to hook up using 2 little rca speakers, for L/R i've set the reciver to 2 speaker setup and for some reason i can't get sound from my speakers. any ideas? I've got HDMI from a Samsung DVD player...

If the amplifier supplies a different resistance rating (ohms) than the speakers draw, it might automatically shut down the amplifier to protect from damage. Make sure the Teac output matches the speakers required input. Hooking up speakers that draw 8 ohms to an amp that supplies 2 ohms can cause amplifier damage.

Hooking up Blu Ray player with HDMI to plasma TV (HDMI ready). Question has to do with audio. Normally would run HDMI cable from player to TV and use optical cable to receiver for audio. This is based on...

Run the HDMI to the receiver then from the receiver to the TV. There is no video loss when doing this and the TV can still do any type of fancy processing on the signal if you want it to.

This way you get the full audio experience and video.

DVD Player not working

Go to menu. Select inputs. Assign input 1(or whatever input you connectedthe dvd to) as DVD. Then exit menu. Press the input key, scroll over to DVD. I reccomend using a component cable with a digital audio cable, if you do not have a DVD player that has an HDMI connection. You will find that a blu-ray player will be much more satisfying for the television you have. Basically by hooking up that old dvd player to that tv, is the same as hooking an 8-track to a $2,000.00 stereo. It will work, but the quality is going to suffer! Good luck, and believe me. It is worth the extra money to get a blu-ray player. It will play all your old dvd's and blu-rays. That way you are getting the full potential of your set.

Hi,if you have video and no sound you have hooked up the dvd with component cables but you still need phono cables for sound, run these from the dvd audio output to tv audio in,if you have a amp for sound come from dvd out to dvd in on your amp.
