Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Brother MFC-7840w wireless printer won't connect to network

For me, the quick solution was to use the 'Open System' instead of 'Shared Key', 'WPA/WPA2-PSK' or 'LEAP' authentication options on your printer.

However, after that, I decided to change the security settings on my router a bit. Log into your router, click the 'Home Network' icon at the top, and then check out 'Wireless Settings.'

The 'Wireless Security' section should tell you how your 2Wire is configured (which I eventually changed to WPA2-PSK.)

SOURCE: I have a Brother MFC-7840w wireless printer. I'm

I will say i am above average in computer knowledge, i have setup many different issues with computers, but this was had me stumped. I have a BROTHER MFC-7840W win xp prof and i have to say calling BROTHER customer service was awesome.

For 2Wire users, at first I was very skeptical because of issues i was having, but once understand how works, kinda nice not having all those extra boxes and wires from modem and routers. Anyway, the key to getting this to work is to go out to the router, wireless and mac address open that up and uncheck the box enable. All 2wire manufacture's at least AT&T should have a further notation that all manual and WIRELESS additions of mac address must have box unchecked. Once i unchecked, honestly within 2 seconds printer was set up.

SOURCE: i cant print any documents

I had the same problem, and couldn't find a solution anywhere. My laptop said the wifi Brother MFC-255CW printer was offline, when the printer was definitely online and connected.
In the end I simply went into Control Panel / Printers, selected the Brother printer, and deleted it off the network. Then I chose "Add a Printer" from the network, and reselected the only printer on my home network - which was the Brother MFC-255CW that I had just deleted. The computer reinstalled the driver, and everything was fine again - haven't had a problem since.

I already downloaded the drivers needed at brother.com, but still can't install the printer MFC-255cw) on windows7

Hello,

It is possible that you have the wrong driver package.
Here is the link you need to download and install the MFC-255CW on Windows 7

http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/ca/en/dlf/dlf/000000/004000/dlf004002.html?reg=us&c=ca&lang=en&prod=mfc255cw_all&type2=1&os=92&flang=8&dlid=dlf004002

Make sure that you choose "save" to download the file; I recommend saving it to your desktop.

Once the download is finished, you will want to double click to run and decompress the file.

You should now have a folder called "mflpro_c1"
Open that folder and then open the folder corresponding to your printer (mfc-255CW)

Now you will see multiple folders with a setup dile at the bottom, run the setup.

If the printer is to be connected wireless, please make sur the wireless connection is completed before installing the software.

Thanks,

Pat
