My camera doesn't work

It is quiet difficult to address this problem as there can be many reasons for the same. Although for your perusal i am writing a few and their solutions:

1) Most importantly check whether your Camera Driver is installed correctly. To ensure that, Right Click My Computer, Manage, Device Manager and look if you can see any yellow question marks. If yes than download the driver and install it.

2) Acer Laptops comes with a Camera Software Utility, open it and see what it tells you about the status of your camera. If an error comes please post it here in comments.

3) Your camera is generally connected with a strip to the motherboard, if everything else is right then there can be problem with it. The connection of the strip could be loose.

Hi..can you help me cause when i open my magic camera it does not work but before this it work...and when i want to record my own video to youtube it can't?can you solve this problem?i really want to...

If you can give me more details, like error messages or so, it would help much solving the issue.
However, try these steps:

1. Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager
2. See if there are any drivers marked in yellow (triangle and exclamation mark), and if yes, right click on it and Uninstall. Then go to top menu and mouse over icons until you find "Check/Scan for hardware changes", click on it and wait-the driver will be automatically installed.
3. Restart your computer and try if the camera works.

In case the steps do not solve your issue, please contact me again and provide following:
1. Operating System (Start>right click Computer>Properties)
2. Webcam model and manufacturer
3. Error code or message you get when try to use your camera.

Does it work.....

Please, make sure your camera is installed:
  1. Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager
  2. Try to find your camera in the list of drivers.
  • If not there, it is not installed, so in that case go to this link: and download the driver (right bottom of the page>quick links>download driver)
  • If there, check if it is marked with yellow triangle: if yes, right click on it and Uninstall, then restart computer and install the camera using the downloaded driver: double click on the driver, and Run>Allow/Continue>plug in the camera if prompted. When installation is done, unplug the camera and restart computer.
3. If you only want to check is your camera works properly: follow the steps from 1., find the camera in the list of drivers, right click on it>Properties>General tab and you will see the information. If you find the camera is not working properly, uninstall it like in 2.b., restart and reinstall the camera following steps provided in 2.b.

Why do not detected my web ***

There are several causes to camera not detected error. Are you sure your camera is installed at all?
Let's see because we have to uninstall it anyway: Start>Control Panel>Uninstall a Program
See if your camera is in the list
  • If yes: click on your camera name in the list and then click Uninstall/Change. When done, restart your computer.
Please, make sure your camera model is supported by your Operating System:
    1. See which is your Operating System: Start>double click Computer>Properties and the first in the list is "Windows Edition" under which you can see which is your your Operating System.
(Also run Windows Update/System Update which u can find by typing one of those into Start search box+Enter. If any updates available, install them and restart computer.)
    2. See your camera System Requirements: go to your camera's manufacturer's website, Click Products, choose your product and model, and they see your camera System Requirements. Which Operating Programs your camera works with? Do you use one of those?
    • If yes, then your camera can work with your Operating system and you do not have to change it.
    • If not, then your camera cannot work with your Operating System. Sometimes it works if we run update camera driver (only after installing the camera): Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager and find your camera in the list, right click on it, click Update. When update done, and if updated, restart your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
  • If you do not find your camera in Control Panel>Uninstall a Program, then your camera is not installed on your computer. Go to Installing a Webcam.
  • Installing a Webcam: Insert camera driver CD, plug your camera if prompted, run Driver icon from the CD, Continue/Allow, and finish installing. Unplug your camera and restart your computer. I would also recommend checking for camera driver update (see above). When update finished, and installed updates, then restart your computer.

Had D-Link webcam installed on one PC with Windows XP and was working fine. I am now tryng to installed it on another PC with Windows 7, sound ok but no video. What shall I do?

First check if the camera is compatible with Windows 7:

I think it is, but you have to update the driver:
Start>right click Computer>Properties>Device Manager (in the left pane)
Find your camera in the list, right click on it and choose Update.
Restart your computer after the update is finished.
Then try to see if the camera works.
Please, let me know the result, so I can give you more instructions if needed.

Camera isn't recognized on my computer what do i do

if your webcam is not working properly (or at all) it is almost certainly a driver issue. However, sometimes computers think they are smarter than we are, and rather than let you install the software that works your camera, the computer will hold it as a device that just isn't working.

I assume you have purchased this camera new, and that you have the software disk that came with it. I also assume that you have predetermined that you have the correct operating system on your computer for the camera.

the following is based on Windows XP (home and pro) and Windows 2000

What we need to do next is start all over. First, we will remove any software that was installed from the disk. From the Start menu, find the Control Panel (if you are using the Classic settings, you will have to find Settings first, then Control Panel.)

In the control panel, find the Add/Remove Programs icon (it should be about the third one). In the programs list, find anything related to the camera (like IBM Camera) and remove it. Restart the computer if asked.

Once that is done, we need to look at the Device Manager to find the non working camera. Find your My Computer icon and RIGHT click on it. From the menu that appears, choose Properties.

With the Properties window open, find the Hardware tab, then the button that says, Device Manger.

With this open, first look for anything with a yellow exclamation mark. If you find it, RIGHT click on it and choose UNINSTALL from the menu.

If you do not find it, look under USB (you may have to click the + to the left of the list). Do you find anything on the list that suggests it is either not working ( ! ) or is a camera (USB IBM Camera)? If so, RIGHT click on it and choose UNINSTALL.

At this point, all traces of the camera should be gone from the computer. Be sure the camera is unplugged, and install the software from the disk. If the system prompts you to plug in the camera, do so; if not, do not.

When the software has been completely installed, including restarts, then plug in your camera. The system should automatically find the drivers and make the camera operational.

Good luck
