Installing Games on 5.5g iPod Video with iPod Linux

Ok, so,
I've just discovered the world of Linux on my iPod through iPodLinux...hmm..sounds odd...

Anyway, I used a beta program to install it and I can't put any games in it through the normal installer because it is too new of an iPod for it to be recognized by the installer. I really want to put StepMania on it, but I'm stumped...I know how to get iBoy and iDoom working, just not regular Linux games.

Any help is greatly appreciated, but please, no stupid answers! I'm also not an extreme hacker, just to keep in mind. A mild one, but not extreme!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hi there,
Please make sure that there are music files stored on your ipod and there are games (apps) that can be played on it.
You would have to put music files in the ipod so it can play it back and the Apps (games) would have to be downloaded from the app store.
One more thing you would like to check is if the ipod has been unlocked.
Hope this helps!

I am unable to delete games from my ipod. the games menu does'nt come up when it is pluged into computer

Just plug your iPod into your computer, open up iTunes and select your iPod in the list to the left. Now you'll see a bunch of tabs near the top of the iTunes window, one of them says "Games," click it. Now check the box that says "Sync Selected Games," or something like that. Now just select which games you want on your iPod. If you want to delete a game that came pre-installed on your iPod, then you're out of luck, because for some odd reason apple doesn't let you take those off.
Hope tis helps!

See videos in ipod nano

you can only get some videos whose format is compatible with your iPod nano, as i know, mp4, mov, are supported by iPod nano, while wmv can not be played on iPod nano. so you'd better convert your video format before you view them on your iPod nano.
here, such program such as any video convert, handbrake, etc. are free but they may have limits or bring some virus. you can try the video converter ultimate, it can help you to convert format easily and effortelessly.

Apple ipod displays only grey apple icon

this should pretty much do you http://www.ipodlinux.org/Key_Combinations

first reset depending on your ipod then quickly useing the correct combination force it into disk mode (already having it plugged into the computer sometimes helps) then use itunes restore utility to fix it itunes will say your ipod needs to be restored and that should do it for you

and one other thing sometimes it is hard to get it to stay in disk mode so try putting it into diagnostic mode then pluging in the dock connector then selecting disk mode from the options

Video but no sound on my 30 GB video ipod

this sounds odd but do you have your headset (earplugs) plugged in? or is the devise plugged into a player with speakers? If so then try to turn up the volume with the wheel by going clockwise.
