How to Transfer Email Backup To External Hard Drive Automatically?

You can setup TIme Machine and configure your external hard drive for the backup. Selecting the external hard drive will setup the Time Machine to backup Emails directly to the external hard drive. Here's how you can do it:

There is another option available called the Mail Backup X. This application is specifically for email backup and you can link your apple mail database backup directly to the external hard drive. It has an inbuilt option to do so. Also, you don't need to backup the entire Mac as in the case of Time Machine. This application will only focus on your email database.

Unable to email a picture from iPhoto library

This has nothing to do with the photo, you try to send. Just log in again to your mail and ask to remember the password on the mac.

I want to download photographs from my iphone?

Plug in your iPhone to your computer, if it's a PC you will need to use the Photo Import Wizard and if it's a Mac you will need to open iPhoto.

Went to Attach photo from iPhoto recent downloads and mac locked with activity wheel spinning. Suspect ram not enough to open 1000 photos!!! How do I safely end task without losing email content????

Go to the Apple icon in the Menu Bar; select Force Quit; in the list you will see iPhoto, you'll need to select that then hit force quit. That will only force quit iPhoto and your email should be fine.

In iPhoto Preferences under the Accounts tab, make sure whichever mail account you use is the first one in the list.
I believe this existed in the version of iPhone in Mac OS 10.4

Downloading Photos from iphone

The quickest and easiest way is to connect via cable and run iPhoto. It will bring all the photos in, seperate them into events etc.
if you have a .me account, photos you take on the iPhone can be automatically synchronised with all your apple or pc computers, as you take the picture.
Finally, if you're without a cable (say at work/friends house) simply email the photo to yourself, from the phone.

Good news and bad news . . .You will probably have to reinstall the OS - that is, unless you have backed up your files on Time Machine or some other back up program. Then all you have to do is ask the back up program to reinstall the missing files.
But if you haven't backed up, you will lose your Mail accounts and email, but not your photos, as far as I know. But at least you can rebuild your accounts.
You will find your iPhoto library in the Applications folder. You can find your photos If you have a .Mac (Mobile Me) account, however, you will find your .Mac mail online.
Here is more help for iPhoto:

I hope something in there helps.  Best wishes, Shari Dyer

Open iPhoto Hi-light the photo or photos you want to send. Select the drop down menu 'share' Select email You will be asked to select the size that you want to send, the larger the size the longer it will take to send. Once you have selected the size then select compose and Mail will open with the photo(s) attached. You can now add any text that you want and then send your email
