We don't know what kind, model , etc. but it sounds like the driver is fine and you blew the final transistor which is about 2 to 5 dollars plus any service charge if you have some one do this for you. It is simple if you know solidering and electronics. First we need to know the model number and then hunt for a schematic.

Hope we can help you more.

Just bought a connex coyote hunter.the antenna i have is for cb i know that for 10 meter radios you have to have a antenna thats tuned.on cb band shouldn't i be able to hear On cb band? With cb ant?

The antennae has to be tuned for the radio not for the band you are listening to. If is a 10 metre band, so you need a 10 metre antennae which enables you to listen to both bands, but looking at the jpg of the radio it gives bands A, B, C, and D, nothing about CB radio itself, but the option of AM and FM radio.. Using the wrong antennae could damage it.

My uniden ltd 715 receives from my handheld but when I transmit to handheld it just buzzes.

Just to clarify something, you say that your hand-held VHF can receive a clear transmission from the Uniden, now which of the radios are buzzing, the Uniden or the HH?. If it's the hand-held buzzing try transmitting on the low watt on the Uniden, get some distance from the radio, because if the hand-held are to close to the on the Uniden on high watt you will get a buzzing, the signal are overpowering the receiver of the hand-held, try getting the minimum of 30 feet away. Good luck.

I jus was wondering, can the cb radio and the handheld radio transmit on the same channel? Im a security officer and im interested in purchase a cb radio so we can use it at work but i dont know if its...

CB radios and hand-held CB radios can operate on the same channel and be in contact with each other. Other hand-held radios do not operate on the same frequencies and even though they may have channel numbers the channels have different frequencies and will not operate to CB radios.

New hand held Midland CB Model #75-785 that will not transmit

Try asking any onrt CB'ers if they can hear you at all.

Could be 2 things -

#1 - you are really too close.

#2 - you've blown the output stage of your rig by keying the mic without an aerial fitted.
- This is very common, and most repair centres are used to dealing with this.
If you are up to electronic repair, it's possible to DIY repair.
Could also be an antenna mismatch or fault.

Transmitting problem on motorcycle

  • Make sure you run the CB directly to the battery. What you are hearing is the alternator whining. Even then sometimes a low pass filter may be necessary. Make sure the chassis of your CB is grounded with a copper braid strap too.

  • Hope this helps.

Maxon Model MCB10A

In order to test this unit you will need a power meter with a dummy load. connect the power meter and turn on the unit, key the microphone and look at the power meter it should have a reading of < 4 watts PEP unmodulated and = 4 watts PEP modulated. If you do not have this reading the RF transmitter in the CB might be malfunctioning. You will need a RF generator, a power meter with dummy load, oscilloscope and a multimeter to troubleshoot this problem with. If you do not have or do not know what this equipment is or how it works, please take your unit to a CB repair shop. Thank you, Shuttle83
