Have you tried running a firmware update for the particular modem? Perhaps since the time you have received the modem to now that there has been an update/number of updates for the particular device. This does often improve situations in connecting & staying connected.
Another possibility could be the power adapter could be failing, in which case see if you can obtain one for test use. If it improves your situation offer to purchase the adapter for market value.
A lot of the USB modems come with the software inbedded in them... but if this isn't the case for this one... you can purchase a USB external DVD drive that will add the missing element to your laptop.
I have purchased recently a USB wireless internet service from forton modem . The USB modem is not working the desktop but when I try to install the USB modem on my computer desktop massage display error 797 Epivally cdma driver not installed Is any component - driver missing on laptop as it was formatted earlier.
Hi, Your laptop has got a modem built in, but it is intended for dial up 56Kbps, not DSL. So they are both right. But if you want to use a DSL internet service you will need to buy either a DSL router or modem. You should not need to buy bothas the router will have the modem built in. Your ISP may have a prefered model and will probably sell you one at a fairly cheap price or you can get one from your local PC world. If you only have the one Laptop at home you can buy either the router or the modem. The modem will probably be cheaper. But for around $60 you can buy a router I prefer wireless. This will allow you around 4 connections and more importantly frees you up from having to be directly and closely connected and allows you to work in various places around the home without trailing cables everywhere. Your ISP will advise you on the settings you require. I advise you to enable all the security options on any wireless devices. I hope this was useful. Carrie
yes..modems are tricky ..uninstall it let the puter find it then insert the software. if at any time u have to select a port for it u failed. it should automaticly select it. then after restart u go to control panel /modem/ and look to see if u have it there there/ next select properties/ modems/diagnistics/ query
you should see alot jibbersh letters...
then you know its working
u might want to do the last first.
Hello there, sounds to me like a softwere problem. Try downloading the drivers again from the website of the make of the modem.
Install them again - if you're getting the same message after, Download anti-virus FREE AVG you can find this at this link for windows: http://free3.grisoft.cz/softw/70free/setup/avg75free_446a965.exe Install this run it on a test see what it says and you may find your problem.
if not then you could do a deep clean and fully re-install windows xp - REMEMBER TO BACK-UP ANY FILES YOU WANT TO KEEP BEFORE DOING SO.
in the meantime good luck
keepin it hardcore!!!!! = (htid) hardcore till i die !
