I just need to know how to put the belt on

  • Anonymous Jun 06, 2008

Belt is broken and can't figure out how to get a new one on around the drum all the way. Does the motor need to be removed to get a new belt on?

  • johnf52 Aug 01, 2008

Yes. How do you get a new belt on. All the panels appear to be folded or spot welded!

There's a slight burning smell coming from the dryer drum.

Some item may have gotten between the drum that rotates and the housing and during the rolling of the drum this item may be heating up from the friction. Check closely to see if you can find anything rubbing on the drum.

Difference between electrostatic and inkjet printer

This sounds like a "homework" assignment.

An electrostatic printer puts electrical charges onto a drum.
Then, dry "powder" ink is put onto the drum.
The ink sticks only to the charged points.
A piece of paper is rolled against the drum.
The "fuser" heats the paper, and melts the ink into the paper, permanently "fixing" onto the paper.

An ink-jet printer shoots microscopic drops of wet, heated, ink onto the paper.
The ink dries into the paper.

Dryer turns on, drum rolls but no heat

the humidity indicator does not show anything and I get no heat and the end of cycle tone dings. Is it just a humidity sensor or is it more like a heating element problem. Vent is clear.

It is not using the start winding in the motor. You might be able to remove the end bell and clean the switch?

Dryer blowing & rolling but no heat

There should be a little white plug on the front of the dryer. (lower left) Take that out and start the dryer. IF your ignitor is working you will be able to see it turn red through the whole. If you dont change the ignitor. then it will light the burner.
