Hi: I have a Kenmore 80 series model 72802. If I set dryer timed setting for 60 minutes drying time, everything works fine & dryer heats up like it should. When I come back to dryer after 60 minute cycle, notice that dryer is cool & clothes are not fully dry. When I set dryer settings & turn on dryer, looking through peep hole, igniter glows, gas flame comes on, dryer heats up. Gets hot on hot setting. After short time, flame goes out, igniter glows again, but no flame on, then igniter goes out. does not heat up from this point. Also, if I turn on dryer, igniter will glow, gas flame comes on, dryer heats up. If I open door & stop dryer, then close door & restart dryer, igniter will come on, but no flame & then igniter goes out. Clothes are not fully drying. Any suggestions as to where to start troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I would like to thank the ones who responded to giving me a 'hand' in repairing my dryer. I did like you said & changed out the coils & now the dryer is working like it should.
This young cat, Dustyrepair is right on, change the coils and you should be good to go. Catriver.
Make sure that your vent is not plug up can you go outside your house and feel good air coming out the vent when the dryer is turn on if so the only other things it could be is the coils that sit on the ignotor assmebly or the high limit termistat is not working properly the coils are little black circle coils that sit in the ignitor assmly should have a metal braket across the top of them holding them in you can check resistance on these coils if you have an meter
Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
check out this electric no heat tip...

Hi: Thanks for your input. I cleaned all of the exhause ducts & vents & vent assembly in the dryer. Hooked the dryer back up & still acting the same. Yes. I was suspecting the coils. If I were to meter the coils what ohmage should I get? Is there a way to check the high limit thermostat?
My Kenmore dryer heats intermitently and now not so much any more - I have changed out the thermal fuse , but did not fix my problem.
I have a kenmore series 80 gas dryer. From a cold start it heats and works normally. It appears that when the unit cycles due to top temperature it does not re-lite. The glow comes on but it does not lite. You have to let the dryer completley cool down and it will re-lite 100 %.
Any idea's would be appreciated.
Model 110.67032601 -- Clothes are dry, but time appears to increase not decrease. Has showed 99 minutes on time.
not sure if it's a 6942 or a 6943 model doesn't say, but I put my clothes in the dryer it was working at the time I set it for 60 mins and it stopped mid cycle at 40 and now it won't turn on at all
Flame only burns for about 10 seconds, and then shuts off. The dryer tumbles for several minutes, and then the flame only burns for 10 seconds again. The clothes take several cycles to dry. How long is the flame supposed to burn?
