Hi there!
Dead short either in the power supply or rectifier, or PTC faulty.
PTC is cream in colour close to the mains on/off switch. Regards, JUS004

Fuse

There is a direct short circuit. Check for it and rectify the problem, before replacing an other fuse.

Philips TV 27PT6441/37 won't turn on - I know I need a 4 amp slow blow fuse. Will it be obvious where the fuse is located once I have the back cover off or will I need to find a schematic?

Yes it will be obvious and you don't need a schematic to find it. What you actually may need is an ohmmeter to find exactly what fuse is blown in case there are more than one fuse present. You can also find this symbol on the board that indicates the fuse. Sometimes this symbol is drawn inside a box.

4 amp slow blow -- any fuse with those characteristics will suffice.

Blows fuse when turned on

this is a normal behavior if one of the power supply transistors have blown. take the unit to an enlectronics repair. they can either change the transistors affected (usually more than one) or replace the power supply board.

Fuses

Hi there!

Dead short in the power supply, possibly the rectifier or the PTC has failed. PTC located in the Primary supply at the point where the coil around the tube plugs into the Main board. Two terminals to be exact. Normally cream in colour if it is an original Philips PTC. If the rectifier is short you may expect to have more items blown. Good Luck, Regards, JUS004

Main fuse blown on CT-32G11 32" Panasonic TV, Replacement fuses continue to blow.

If the main fuse keeps blowing, check the horizontal output transistor for a shorted condition and diodes in that section as well.

The main fuse should be a 4 amp fuse not a 1.25 amp.
