Turn your speakers up and moisten your finger. touch the jack plug that inserts into the pc, if you hear the speakers buzz/crackle then they are ok. If not I would try a new lead if possible, else speakers are u/s as if headphones work then speakers should as well as use the same output from the pc, just amplify it unlike headphones. You could also check in the cpanel to see if your speakers are set to speakers and not headphones but to be honest I cant see this stopping the speakers altogether.

The speakers no long produce sound after using the headphone jack,,disconnected jack , still no sound

When you plug in the headphones, the jack itself routes the signal away from the speakers. When you unplug the headphones, the jack has contacts that close again, routing signal to the speakers. If the jack contacts are dirty, they won't close correctly. I suspect were you to clean the contacts, you'd solve the problem.

When I plugin my headphones The sound dosn't go to the headphones.

First, try plugging in different headphones. If those work, then your headphones are broken and you need to replace them.

If those don't work, then please check to make sure you're not plugging them into the microphone jack - you'll see two identical plugs, usually the headphone one is marked with a pair of headphones.

If you're plugging known working headphones into the correct port, then your computer must logically be the broken thing.

Dell laptop headphone sound on out headphone no sound

Sound Loss in Dell Computer Headphones b> Most Dell computers have special hardware and software that are set up to automatically adjust the configuration of the headphone ports when headphones are connected, muting the primary speakers in the process. If no sound is coming out of your headphones, this is most likely caused by a configuration issue that can be resolved with a few simple steps.

Basic Headphone Troubleshooting
If no sound is coming from your headphones, confirm that the headphones work properly by using them with a different device. After this, confirm that the headphones are plugged into the proper jack. If your CD/DVD drive has a headphone jack in front, audio will only be played through this jack when you are playing a disc. On a desktop computer, the correct jack to use for headphones is usually color-coded green, while notebook computers will have headphone icons next to the correct jacks. Finally, check the speaker icon in the system tray to make sure that your sound output is not muted. b> Troubleshooting Notebooks b> Most Dell notebooks use a special type of audio jack. The jack, along with the sound drivers that are installed, automatically detect whether headphones or speakers are plugged in and adjust the sound output accordingly. If this does not happen when headphones are plugged in, the sound drivers may be at fault. Visit the Dell support website and download the most recent sound drivers for your notebook. If this does not help, some users have reported success with removing the sound drivers completely and letting Windows install generic drivers automatically. Last Resort b> If all other options have been exhausted, the last resort in troubleshooting a headphone jack is running a complete system recovery operation. This will completely erase all of the information on your primary hard drive partition and reinstall Windows along with the drivers for all of your hardware. This is an extreme measure, as you will lose all of the information that you have stored on the hard drive. However, it will resolve the issue if it is caused by a software problem. If the issue remains, the headphone jack must be replaced. Hope this helps.

Sound quality/ connection to tv/ audio problems

The sound quality from an HDtv could very well be better than from a lesser-quality TV. The sound from the headphones can only be as good as the signal that feeds it.

Sound still appear at speaker even when headphone was installed

Hello Again,

When you Plug in HeadPhones into the Laptop the Sound Playing should automatically Bi-Pass the Speakers and go Straight to the Headphones

-Unless there is a Faulty Input for the Speaker/ Headphone, Try Pushing in the Headphones More to see if the Speakers Turn Off

Hope this Works --P3NGYJ03
