I have assembled many of these machines, and have never seen any washers. There should be a small plastic bag containing two long bolts, two nuts, and a small self tapping screw. The bolts go through the handle assembly from the front, and the nuts fit into the upper hose holder from the rear ( you will see two hexagonal holes for them). The small screw holds the lower hose holder to the lower rear of the machine.
Hello. The hose attaches on backside of cleaner right in the middle. (it twists in the opening) If you are talking about the other end, it attaches at the lower right side(if standing behind cleaner) of cleaner. I hope this helps! let me know
You're quite right . . . the manual doesn't show where the other end of the hose goes, which frustrated me as well. I finally found another pic of the cleaner (I think it may have been the one on the box) which revealed the answer. If you're facing the rear of the machine, there is a plastic "hose clip" on the right side of the machine (it looks like the letter "c"), and the "loose end" of the hose is snapped into place in that holder - it doesn't actually connect into an aperture (that end of the hose is just to place the little furniture brush on, if you use it). Once in place, the hose will actually kind of overlap itself and be held firmly in place against the side of the machine. Hope that helps - I too am not a fan of manuals that leave obvious questions unanswered.
