Hi dear

try to update ypur mac first in this site below :
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1051update.html

The CUPS author created a small utility that should help with the 10.5.2 upgrade and the Airport problems:

http://ftp.easysw.com/pub/cups/contrib/FixAirportPrinter.dmg

Steps:

1. Add Airport printer
2. Run FixAirportPrinter application
3. Double-click on printer in list (or click on printer and click on
"Fix Printer" button)

Please weigh in with any results you have.

It is the Printer Driver that is the problem.

Reset the printing system, and delete all the Samsung printer drivers, then install the Samsung printer drivers from the Leopard DVD on the Samsung website. Hope this helps for people out there with Samsung printers.

Use the disk provided with the printer

Put the disk inside your Mac, a box will pop up giving instructions, follow the instruction.
Connect the printer when required by software on disk.
Important: do not connect the printer before running setup disk. put disk first, follow instruction. connect printer only when required or when the setup program has finished

    regards

Also ensure that you have an usb cable to connect the printer.

G5 keeps powering up for a few mins then switches off?

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

There are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

Try a PMU Reset:
* Turn of your iMac if it is already turned off
* Disconnect all connections to the iMac except the power cord
* Now disconnect the power cord for approximately 20 seconds
* Reconnect just the power cable the keyboard, mouse and power cord, and then power your iMac G5 up.

* Check to see if the iMac boots up normally without power interruption.

* If the iMac G5 shuts off again, try these steps, another recommendation would be to remove all connections including the power cord, and lay the iMac G5 on soft cloth face down and with a philips screwdriver, remove the plate on the bottom of the iMac G5 where your RAM memory is located.
Before removing the RAM however, touch your hand on the metal boot to discharge any static current you carry for approximately 5 seconds.

Now remove each RAM card and then reseat (re-install) each card.

Restore the RAM card cover with your Philips screwdriver, reconnect your power cable, keyboard an
d mouse and turn on your iMac G5.

See if this second procedure helps if the first procedure does not work.

Let me know if this helps.

I Have a MAC OSX 101.5 can I install leopard

Here are the minimum specs your Mac will need to run Leopard, from Apple:
  • Intel, G5, or 867MHz+ G4 processor
  • 512 megs of RAM (though if you only have 512 megs of RAM you should get some more. Trust me, I'm a pundit)
  • DVD drive (Leopard is shipping on a DVD, and your Mac needs to read it to be able to install it)
  • 9GB of free disk space (though I bet if you customize the install and leave out all those printer drivers and extra languages you can save lots of space)
Go to your apple menu, and look on the "about this mac" If your machine doesn't have the mhz's you are out of luck. If you don't have a DVD drive, you are not going to be able to install either...

Imac g5 is not turning on. LED1 stays on. I tried resetting the SMU and it didn't work. LED2 flashes on and off making a chirping noise. What could this be

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having troubles,
Is this a 17” iMac G5, if it is, and I think it is, unfortunately, this iMac model was generation 1 of the all in one flat screen design and it's a bit of a Lemon... The hard Drive overheats the video card and the power supply. With time, these 2 elements burn out.
What you have sounds like the power supply. it's a $300 repair, but, it might not be a good investment for you, the new power supply won't last much more than the first one and your video chip won't last much longer....
Best put the money and put it towards a new machine.
Sorry bout that.

''Twain is Missing'' keeps coming up - can't scan from printer

Download appzapper , you get 5 free goes with it. Drag your old HP software onto it and it will find all the hidden files. Zap it. Hopefully this will have delete all HP related files.

Download the latest files from HP for your Mac. If you do this first AppZapper will delete this as well, so you'll only have to download it again.

So basically, you're deleting all the old files for HP Deskjet 5510 printer and installing all new ones.

Printer

Which OS do you have 10.4 or 10.5?

To add printers in 10.5 go to your system preferences and you will see a Printer & Fax icon. This is where you add printers.

In 10.4 go to your applications folder and then into your Utilities folder. There is Printer Utility application where you can add printers from there.
