Question about Asko 24 in. 1585 Built-in Dishwasher

Asko 1585 wash cycle goes continuously until manually shut off

We have a Asko 1585 that once you set a normal wash cycle going it will just
continue washing and rinsing ( sometimes well over 2 hours ) until you
shut it off manually. Seems the unit may be repeating the cycle over
and over again. I have set it for no extra cycles but that didnt help.
Is there a master reset code that or just the codes in the manual or
can anyone suggest a solution ?

Thanks, Jim email jimrfox@rogers.com

It may be a heating problem, does it get hot at all, or over heat.may be a thermistor fault.remove the door skin and see if rinse aid has leaked onto the wiring.or the board itself cauld be faulty, but are very expensive.hope this helps.

Dishwasher not running through entire wash cycle

If I understand right, you saying no/little water is entering the washer?

First, look for the float switch valve.
Here's an example of what you're looking for:

http://appliancejunk.com/forums/gallery/1_12_08_07_8_34_08.jpg

It's the item in the lower right, with the spoon stuck under it.
If this float is stuck/hung-up in the UP position, it won't allow water to flow, as it senses that the water level is already at maximum.

Try to lift yours and see if it freely drops back down on it's own.
Sometimes they get gummed up and stick, or get pulled up and tilted a little, or have something (like a spoon) stuck under them.

I have a problem with my Asko D3350 Dishwasher, can you help? On startup the diswasher does its normal cycle and pumps excess water out and then fills the dishwasher with water to the correct level of...

Hi Tony,

I have the same machine (D3350) and almost the same problem.

Mine starts each cycle fine - pumps out - fills - rinses - pumps out tht first load and then does not fill again. If I manually fill with a bottle (about 2 litres) for each subsequent cycle then it washes as well as it ever did.

Seeing it fills once it cannot be the water supply, nor the solenoid that operate the water supply. So, my guess is the control panel.

Like you I would love to simply take advantage of the PC Upgradeable featurewshich seemed so attractive at the time of pruchase.

Just installed a used asko 1805 dishwasher it stopped on the rinse cycle and kept sucking in air lights were flashing and no buttons responded

Please check these,
1)Water-heating cycle
2)Timer

Water-heating cycle
Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

* On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

* On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

The light blinks may be due to faults with water fill. You can try this out to see if it helps,
1. Disconnect the power to the unit

2. Remove the lower access panels and check the tray under the dishwasher (you will probably find it is full of water)

3. Use a towel or a sponge to remove the water

4. There is a float that should stop the operation of the dishwasher and run the pump if water is in this tray. Check this pump to see if it is functional

5. Test the dishwasher

6. If there are no leaks from the dishwasher into the pan, check the drain hose under the sink

7. THE DRAIN HOSE MUST RUN UP TO THE TOP OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COUNTERTOP THEN DOWN TO THE DRAIN. (If the hose is not set up like this, water from the sink drain will flow into the dishwasher and overfill the tray)

All the lights stay on after a cycle completion even after I siphoned all the remaining water in the filter sump.(After opening and closing the door. ASKO model 1585)

Hello, the reason for the light flash error is the unit either didn't drain properly, overfilled somehow or has a leak which is filling the "overfill basin" ( it's designed to, that way it doesn't get to your floor...in theory ). Check your drain hose by removing it where it connect's to your home plumbing via under sink pipe or food diposer/garberator. You'll also need to remove the lower access panel, or kick plate as it is sometimes referred to, and absorb the water in the basin before it will run a cycle...or wait a few days for enough water to evaporate from the basin ( shut off the power/breaker before doing so ) then look for evidence of a leak. Check at the fill valve, (to the left) the drain pump, (slightly to the left-center) as well as the circulation pump & hoses, ( it is much more difficult to see...directly behind the big gray main sump assembly). That should get you moving forward. The Asko can be a challenge to work on if you've never worked on one. That is why I usually suggest calling a pro, preferably an authorized Asko servicer. It may save many unessasary part's being changed as I see too often with these. Hope that help's, good luck. macmarkus :)

Maytag dishwasher

Hi kimleh.

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your question is: The dishwasher goes through the first wash cycle on a light setting and first two on a normal cycle but will not continue. The motor hums but does nothing else.It drains fine as well after the wash cycle.

Without additional info it sounds like a control problem. Must be a warranty call. If beyond warranty then you have to decide whether it's more cost effective to repare or replace it.

Have Whirlpool dishwasher Gold Series, Model GU9805CGB1 which stops part way through wash cycle with the led indicator blinks on the normal cycle.....if we ope nthe door and shut ...it continues until part...

sounds like the door is losing contact with the door switch, first thing i would check is the door strike.Metal strike plate located on the tub itself that the door latch catches as it closes. its a spring metal striker, i would try bending it down a little bit to ensure better contact with the switches inside the door itself . next id open the control panel and check to make sure your door switches are secured well, wires are tight.

do they flash lik all on one side then the other? Start a cycle, then open the door. Do the lights flash the same way when you open the door as when it stops? if soyou may have a door that needs to be adjusted so it closes better. when the cycle ends, is there any standing water in the bottom? if so you may have a poorly routed drain hose or a partial clog in it. Last, pull the bottom panels off and look inside the bottom of the dishwasher and see if there is standing water down there . If ther is you have aleak somewhere or a bad drain pump. You r only other choice is a bad pressure switch. If youve already adjusted the water fil to the proper level ( just up to the grey plastic housing that the lower wash arm sits on) tehre really aernt any more options. Hope this helps!
