The cables connected are in the wrong spaces, either on the receiver or the television. Using component style cables, Green, Red, Blue for video, and White, Red for audio, one of the video cables is in the wrong spot. Using RCA type cables, Yellow for video, White, Red for audio, the Yellow is inserted into a green component somewhere. The ViP 722 is compatible with HDMI, which has a much higher resolution (1080p max with the ViP 722) and a better refresh rate (the ViP 722 max is 30Mhz), and as there is only one cable for both audio and video, is much easier to use, if your TV is compatible, you should look into using HDMI instead,
Ask for a different model of cablebox. If you replace it with the same model #, you will not resolve the problem. The issue you are have is compatibility. The TV is not compatible with the model of cablebox you have... this goes both ways... the box is not compatible with the TV. It's not the TVs fault entirely. If this does not resolve it, just use Component cable for the connection. The picture will look the same.
you have to use the conventional audio video jacks first. then access the options menu and enable the component video cable options. i think it will ask you what kind of format your tv supports, and after that, replace it with your components
Try to change cable sometimes can happen.Troubleshooting the issue is the best you can do.
Unplug the connector and use another one or since ps2 is a common machine bring over one of your friend and try to find out what`s happened. Can be your tv as well...that`s why i`m telling you the best way is to ask your friend to use the tv and the cable to make sure nothing is wrong with your machine
Is your tv connected to your cable box through HDMI, AV, or component? _____________________________
If its through HDMI then your cable carrier needs to load updated frimware in your box to communicate properly with your 2005 tv. The firmware loaded in your cable box needs to be "reverse compatible" for first generation HDMI from your 2005 tv. If your using AV or component hook-up and there's no sound then re-check all of your audio settings within the tv's menu. Also recheck the cable-wire your using and proper input/output ports.
ON your dvd player, is your tv connected through component, AV(rca) or HDMI?
If its through "component" then you need an extra audio cable to and from the DVD and tv.
since you bought this console used, it maybe set to HDMI 1080p/ 1080i/720p output(by the original owner) and if your TV does not support this there will be no picture, the only way to lower the output resoloution is to get into the options menu but to do that you will need a freind with a tv that supports whatever resoloution its been set too.
did you hook the yellow up to a green jack labeld Y on the back? What kind of tv do you have? Some component inputs (the ones with the green Y jack) are not compatible with the video input you have, some are.
