Error code 7 - EcoSmart Washer - Fisher and Paykel

Washer stopped working just recently. Only the last 3 lights are lit in the Wash Progress panel. Looking on the site I didn't find an error code 7.

It seems that before it beeps and quits it is filling the drum and draining at the same time but never filling the tub.

Please advise as to what needs to be done to get this fixed.

Thanks,

Randal

I have tried your suggestios for the following:
If Washer does not work but it does make noise:

none of these have helped or located a problem.

I am waiting to rate your solution because it was incomplete. I had to spend over 3 hours on applicanceguru.com to get an idea of what my parts looked like and where they were located.

Your site is good but not for the Fisher and Paykel washer.

Do you have any other ideas?

Washing Machine stopped through cycle and now will not turn on

Check the wiring harness, connections, contacts, etc. Look for some corrosion and loose connections. Also, check the water inlet for anything that may cause a reduction in water flow.

    Tip

Decoding Fisher & Paykel Electronic Washing Machine Fault Codes

The Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive and EcoSmart electronic washing machines are equipped with fault detecting software to help easily determine the cause whenever a problem occurs. Not like other electronic washing machines, these ones do not have displays to flash the code, but rather use the eight (8) light-emitting diodes (LED) of the Wash Progress indicators to indicate the fault code. The eight (8) LEDs stand as an 8-bit binary number (zeroes and ones) that must be decoded and then converted to the decimal number system to get the fault code.

The fault code can be decoded by determining which Wash Progress LEDs are lit. Once determined which of the LEDs are lit, write down the 8-bit binary code; 1 for lit LEDs and 0 for the off ones. For example; the final wash, rinse, and spin LEDs are lit; the binary code is 00001101. This in turn can be converted to the decimal number system by multiplying each digit with its corresponding place value then adding up the result. From left to right, the place values are 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, and 1 respectively. Therefore, the decimal equivalent of 00001101 is 128(0) + 64(0) + 32(0) + 16(0) + 8(1) + 4(1) + 2(0) + 1(1) = 8 + 4 + 1 = 13; the fault code is 13 which is a pump fault.

Once the code is determined, search the web for the meaning and indicate it when requesting for an online assistance to facilitate a quick and precise response.

Please reply with the answer to this question and i am sure i can help you. Regards Lu

Fisher paykel washer. turn on 3 progress lights up only, cannot switch off power button. When off the lid lock red light is on

this is a fault in the motor controller fault. the fault code number is 140. it may have a problem with the motor windings / RPS also. you will need parts from F+P.

My fisher and paykel gw708u is intermitantly filling then goes into alarm and stops

Your rotor position sensor could be faulty,
your error code should be on the wash cycle progress lights.

Our FnP GW611 while filling the water stops and starts and after a short time it stops and beeps and the long wash and spin lights come on orange. Any ideas? Thanks

The problem can be determined through the Wash Progress LEDs. The specific lit LEDs combination indicates an specific error code that tells what generally the problem is. But the exact positions of the lit LEDs are necessary in determining the exact code. Refer to the illustration below and post back the code or the exact positions of the lit LEDs. You may Google for the error code once you determine it, like "Fisher and Paykel Fault Code 37".

    Will not spin

Some of the Wash Progress LEDs flash when the machine stops due to a fault. The 8 Wash Progress LEDs stands for the binary digits and by indicating the digits, the fault code number is determined. The fault code can be shown by activating Diagnostic Mode if none of the Wash Progress LEDs are lit.

Turn machine OFF on the control panel then hold down the Water Temp Down button and press the POWER button until the machine gives 2 short beeps and lights up. Release buttons and you are in Diagnostic mode. Press the Spin Speed Up button 3 times until the Hold and Slow LEDs are lit. Write down the LEDs which are lit across the Wash Progress LEDs and post it back.

I too am having this problem.  I am checking out if anyone has a solution.  Somewhere someone said to change the "Fill switch"  I don't know what that is or where it is.  Does this help?  If you have found anything let me know. monica.roberts@usa.com
