Question about Lexmark X3480 All-In-One Printer

I am a novice. Please reply if you have loads of patience!!! I am trying to scan my sons eye test prescription cos he is in china and nobody speaks english. then i want to attach it to an email and send it to him as his specs are broken. I CANT GET MY LEXMARK TO SCAN OR PREVIEW ANYTHING. HELP PLEASE

First off, how is the device connected? is it on a USB cable or a Ethernet, if it is set up with a paralell cable it will not scan correctly.
Also, is all the sotware loaded onto your comuter.
You may want to go to the lexmark site, download the all in one firmware and reload it following the setup instructions to be sure all the items on the device are properly loaded.
It would be at lexmark.com. And look for downloads. Then look for your product. A fresh install with the newest software would be the best way to go to be sure everything is in stalled.

Believe me I understand, I have a unique glasses prescription and broke mine a month ago, had to wait a week for them to be made. So I understand how he feels.

Scanning documents at the printer

1 Load the document into the scanner.
Note: Documents may be loaded into the scanner in multiple ways. For information on the different methods of loading documents into the scanner, see the User's Guide that came with the printer.
2 Touch Scan to Network. If prompted, enter the user name and password used to access the printer. Contact your system support person for login information.
3 Select the destination where you want to receive the scanned document. If prompted, enter the user name and password required to access the destination. Contact your system support person for login information.
4 Some additional job options may be available depending on how the application has been configured. Follow the instructions on the screen to update the options. Contact your system support person for more information on each option.
5 Touch Scan It. Depending on how the application has been configured, you may have the option to preview and make adjustments to scanned pages.
6 To scan additional documents, load the next document into the scanner and select one of the following from the confirmation screen:
• Touch Yes, to same destination to scan the document to the previous destination.
• Touch Yes, to a different destination to scan the document to a different destination.
• Touch No to finish the operation and return to the printer Home screen.

How to resolve error 5 in printer canon pixma mp198


Please follow the below mentioned steps to Reset Canon Pixma MPC190 Printers.

1.Enter the service mode SERVICE MODE - pressing buttons Menu, Copy, Scan, Copy, Copy
2.Choose TEST MODE.
3.Select 8 PRINTER TEST TEST MODE.
4.Choose 3, EEPROM CLEAR
5.Select 0, INK COUNT
6.Press the Set button.
7.Click Stop / Reset button (return to item 3), and again press the ON / OFF

I have plugged and unplugged and restarted the printer. it will copy and scan. the wifi blue light is on. but it will not print when we try to print from the laptop


Hi there please configar the printer & pc connectivity via Bluetooth first then go for test print. If not working then uninstall the printer driver and restart the pc and again install it. During installation open your eyes and read properly all the instruction. Let me know whats going on.

I lost my lexmark x7170 software to redown load it again cos i couldnt fix the scanner.how to do that?

Download the correct driver, execute the file and follow the instructions in the software. If your computer will look for the Lexmark OCR scan software when you try scanning, you will be needing the printer installation disk. If that's the case, I suggest you contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

Hi. Try these simple steps:

Turn your printer on,
Plug it in the USB port of your computer,
Click Start,
Click Control Panel,
Open Printers,
Right-click your default printer
Left-click "make this printer on-line"
Then try to print a test page...see if that helped!!!

I have a HP photosmart C7280 all in one, when you scan or copy the page comes out solid black even a scan to the computer scans in black


Test pls a lamp of scaner. Reinstall thedriver. Test a cord. Change a driver. Test the scaner? What does the unit of scaner mooving?

2) Make sure that the printer is on and loaded with unused plain, white paper
3) Press Setup. The Setup menu appears
4) Press the down arrow button to select Tools and then press OK
5) Press the down arrow button to select Self-test Report , and press OK. The self-test report prints
