Question about HP f1905 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Multiple monitors, hp f1905 image auto adjusts to upper left corner

I have 2 monitors, hw23307h and the hp f1905. The f1905 works fine alone but when set to be the second monitor the image auto adjusts to the upper left corner and can't be adjusted enough to get it in the center. The driver is window vista's generic nonPnP, can't find one specific to the f1905.

You are not looking for the driver for your monitor. You need the drivers for your video card. It is probably running with the defualt Vista drivers as well and needs to have the correct manufactures drivers installed.
With the correct drivers you should be able to control 2 different settings one for each monitor.

Monitor went out and only displays a black screen. The power button indicates that the power is on but no picture. The model is an HP f1905 19 inch flat screen monitor.

Use a flashlight and shine on your screen. Look carefully is you still see the image on the screen. If you do, this is an indication that the monitor is still working, but the backlight has failed. A common solution with backlight-failures is to open the monitor, and look if you see any "swollen" capacitors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague). If you see one you should replace it. Only open your monitor if you know what you're doing and have basic knowledge of electronics and soldering.

Auto adjust flashes all time

davidfoun435, Possible that unit's internal power supply is about to fail! Go here first and do some reading: http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Remember this! Your cold cathode fluorescent lamp, back-lit, lcd monitor isn't any different than any other brand in it's basic engineering design and mode of operation, and when "strange stuff" appears on the screen the first thing to investigate is the "switch-mode-power-supply"

I have a ViewSonic Monitor, model number Vs11307. The screen is all blurred and the screen isn't adjusting properly. The screen is shifted to the right and I have a blank rectangle at the left side. I...

I had the same problem same model. The image was off center to the right and it couldn't be fixed by the auto-image adjust or the manual adjust.

My solution was really simple, I moved a video player (RealPlayer) onto the monitor and maximized the screen, then pressed auto-adjust once. It worked.

Auto adjustment comes on every 5 seconds

Sometimes that can be caused by a loose or bad video cable causing the monitor to re-adjust for the video signal. You could try resetting the monitor by unplugging it for a few hours and re-plugging it again too. Also check with HP and see if they have any warranty, extended warranty, repair notice, free repair/ replacement.

On My LCD monitor every time displays Auto Adjusting

It might say that when changing resolution or frequency in order to line the corners up with out cutting off. Might also be video card sending it mix signals too.

Calibration of monitor

Here's the tip I used years ago on CRT's suffering this same fate.

Take one of your printed photo's and hold it next to the screen (with the same photo on it running in whatever software you want to print from)
Now using the monitors controls, make the monitor look like your photo that you have printed.
Nice and dark now like the photo, good =)
Now adjust the software to what you want it to look like when printed.
Looking good so far..ok
Save those settings in the program. then re adjust the monitor back to how you want it to look normally (as it was before basically)

Not the ideal soloution, but it works and it's free.
