I recently discovered a great device, manufactured by Honeywell which is guaranteed to provide you with peace of mind whenever you are away from your home or business for more than a few hours. The Honeywell Winter Watchman UPC#: 085267870511, is a freeze warning alarm. Winter Watchman turns on a light alerting neighbors of a cold, low temperature condition. The model number is S483B1002 and the cost is in the $25.00 - $30.00 range.
This device plugs into a home outlet and then you plug a lamp into it. Make sure the lamp is on before you plug it into the Winter watchman. I use a lamp with a red globe and place it in the front window. Then I notify all of the helpful neighbors of my warning system so that can call me,or my designee, if they see the red light on. One of the features of the Winter Watchman is the fact that you can set the warning temperature, ten degrees below the setting on the thermostat would be a good setting in that the warning light would activate but your home wouldn't be in danger of an immediate freeze of the water pipes. OTHER modifications you might consider would be:
    1. plug a spot light with a red bulb and a flasher unit into the Winter Watchman to get everyone's attention.
    2. Use more that one Winter Watchman, perhaps on the other side of the house so that multiple neighbors can be alerted.

I need wiring diagram for Amana AKT3650E. I have 220VAC supply without a neutral. Electricain says the warning lights need 115VAC. How it that achieved?

    So the manual:

says the power requirements are 120/240 VAC 3 wire single phase.

Almost all wiring includes a ground wire, so saying 3 wire also says it additionally has a ground wire. However, many oven outlets were wired using the neutral as the ground (now considered illegal - especially for new installations) - so they had a 3 prong plug.

Metering from any 2 holes (at a time) in the receptacle should reveal 240 V (across the similar slots) and 120 V and 120 V (from outside slots to middle slot).

Well, first of all, your mom doesn't want you running up the wireless data bill. 2nd of all, buried in the SETTINGS menu is a selection to turn DATA on/off. Go find it and turn cell data back on.

    Oven not working

    Hi, welcome to fixya,

You said, you are about to close on a new house and the home inspection noted the oven does not work. It's an electric Amana convection range, model # ARTC7114WW. error message on display is F4

If you want you can try to reset the system of the rang by throwing off the breaker for 5 minutes and then trying it to see if it reset!
But it's old and this may not work on that range!

This oven is 10 years old from 1999.
The seller must fix it or you will not buy his home!
It is a buyers market! You have the power to demand anything you want within reason, or not.

People have houses on the market for a year now and can't sell them!
Didn't your home inspector tell you that the seller can not sell the home without a working range?

In New Jersey you can only take your fridge when you sell your home and the home owner must leave a working range !
Even if you expect to replace it once you move in, the seller must give you a working range.
Tell them you want $999.00 off the final sale price because you must replace the range!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The error message F4, is for the seller and not the buyers problem to fix or repair !
Let me know what you find.

Now that I gave you good fatherly advice!
I wish you all the best in hat ever new home you buy!
    Bless you,

Please leave a rating before you leave our site!
    Thank You Huuum

    No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out

below 55dBmv TX is a lot better. Could be a bad service line. Also if you call the cable company and have them come out again. Have them put their DSAM meters on the house lines as well as the service tap and have them check for upstream ingress. a lot of things can cause this. It could be a loose fitting somewhere in the house. A t.v.'s shielding may be going out causing unwanted frequencies bleeding in and creating all kinds of noise on the upstream spectrum going back to the node. It could even be a neighbor causing this with their own equipment. If that's the case their maintenance techs should be able to find that.

Electrolux GLES388DSA stove: how do i clean the inner door window ?

Usually the range windows are sealed in so such things won't enter in between the glass. If you're lucky however, there may be screws or bolts on the sides of the door you can see while it's open, and you should be able to take the entire door off by most likely opening it half-way and pulling upward. If there are no screws however, the rubber seals that surround the windows might be able to be taken off if you're brave enough to try. Be warned at that idea though, because if it is sealed, then getting it re-sealed properly is a tough task at home or office.

If the top units and oven only get barely warm you have a loose connection on one leg of the 240 volt maybe where the line enters range.
