I was using my blender (for the second or third time EVER) and it just stopped working. I noticed a little smoke just before that happened, so I turned it off, waited until it cooledOFF, and tried again. It worked for just a second or two then it just stopped!! Did I permanently burn the thing? Is there anything I can do to check if it is repairable before I "toss" it?
It sounds like one of a number of things...
* The contacts in the switches fried
* The motor itself fried
* The controller section fried
If you saw smoke, something fried... probably cheaper to simply replace the unit. Even if it still worked, it's a 120V electric appliance used with liquids, and I wouldn't trust it... I'd hate to hear that your blender started a kitchen fire.
