If you push the start/cancel button it should start to drain water out. can you hear it drainin into the sink???can you at least hear thje drain pump activated trying to pump???perhaps its humming... if so id check your drain connection under the sink for blockage, and then next remove the drain pump itself and look for debris clogged within it stoppin drain

I have standing water in my dishwasher. How do I unclog the drain?

It will be smelly water and if you have access to a shop vac that will help you remove the standing water if not use a bowl or turkey blaster listed below.
Use a small bowl to remove standing water from washer to access screen to remove and check for blockage. Once you have removed all the water that you can with a bowl or cup. You can use a turkey blaster to sucton remaining water from dishwasher.
Then you remove screen and clean out drain and also check drain line for blockage from dishwasher to under sink.

Clean out drain to unclog in bottom of dishwasher and you may have to remove drain line to clean it.

1. leaks from bottom. 2 smells like mold. Help, Cheryl

YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE 4 SCREWS LOCATED INSIDE THE DOOR WAY. 2 HOLD THE DOOR HINGES AND THE OTHER TWO HOLD THE FRONT PANEL. THE DOOR CAN REMAIN ON AND IT SHOULD STAY PUT ONCE SCREWS ARE OUT. THEN REMOVE THE FRONT PANEL, RUN A CYCLE AND SEE IFF YOU CANT LOCATE THE LEAK.
IT IS MOST LIKELY LEAKING FROM THE BIG GREY DOOR GASKET

GE Externa Tritan XL (7 yrs old): Standing dirty water

Hello, there isnt much that you can do, there could be a number of problems. It could be a slight blockage somewhere from your drainage hoses to your pump. It could also not be spinning properly. If you want to drain the rest of the water out you will need to get your drainage hose and lay it flat on the floor to a drain, this will stop things getting smelly. You just may have to get a repair man in, I hope this helps.
