Frig not cooling

I have frig temp set at 34, its 58, freezer working fine

    Exact same problem, however the fridge occaissionally drops back to 34, then back up to 58 ish, and so on. This transition can happen in an hour! I have a feeling it may be a defrost issue, just a thought. I have lost $700 dollars worth of food due to this machine, most due to the failure to reset issue with a brown out condition. I have checked my freezer evap, froze over several times after the brown outs. I have shut off the water supply, just in case, I had some water accumulation previously. This was possibly due to defrost?

    yee ha!!! Sounds like these refers are worthless peices of junk. I'm having the same problem exactly(it is very common on other blogs). I have been trying to get someone to look at it for 7 days now and ( I live in a no coverage area) after multiple phone calls to Samsung ( hung up on 3 times) about the problem not one returned phone call(also common on other blogs) I was told if they don't find someone in 7 days they will replace. Seen this answer used on other people with no results (on other blogs also). Seems like Samsung has the same M. O. over and over again SOLUTION TO PROBLEM: Haul off to junk yard, by a Whirlpool and never buy another Samsung product of any kind again

I had a same problem as what you described. I purchased mu Samsung RS2545SH side-by-side refridgerator from Costco 2 years ago. I contacted Sumsung, who then sent out a local/independently operated repair shop to come and perform the repair. After three trips by the repair shop and more than $400 in repair cost, the same problem persisted, and I'm stuck with a non-functional fridge for more than 2 weeks. Repeated calls to Samsung service line simply added more aggrevation and no results. The repair shop declared the fridge non-repairable, and my attempts to ask Samsung for a refund only get me a standard response: The executive review committee is reviewing your case!

Finally I simply had it, and hauled the fridge back to Costco, and thank goodness, the folks there were so kind and took back the broken fridge after 2 yrs from the purchase date. Thank you, Costco!

I do not recommend anyone to purchase a Samsung refridgerator. They may look nice on the outside, and maybe even a bit cheaper price. But you may very well be stuck with a non-working fridge in a year or two, and a warranty bureaucracy that will bog you down. And Samsung did not seem to care about standing behind their broken product. This will be the last Samsung product I will ever purchase.

I have Samsung fridge model RS267LBSH. The freezer works but why won't the frig side cool?


If the door temp is reading low then it will not cool as that is the temperature the fridge thinks it is at (regardless of the real temperature). Try setting the door temp lower and see if there is still a 14 degree difference between the 2 readings. If it does cool down further and the difference is the same then I would suspect the thermostat.

is temp or freezer control turned all the way up? set frig / freezer control in middle and wait 24 hours. do you feel cool air going in freezer from vent? if not change control as stated and see if you have air flow. control door to frig may also be broken or stuck

OK, here's the problem - Samsung model RB1955SH - plug refrig in it cools both frig and freezer to desired settings - however, once system reaches stttings and turns off compressor, will not restart system...


the temp controller is bad in the fridge once it reaches cooling temp desired it cause the temp comtroller to go into a shut off mode due to being weak on the temp sensor tube

If the freezer is staying cold it sounds like a defrost system problem. A bad timer, heater or thermostat can cause frost to build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrig side. Check out ACMEHowTo.com for troubleshooting the defroster problem.
There is a small duct between the freezer and refrigerator side if this is blocked the frig side won't cool.

We have a LG Two Side Fridge.


Look for the air ciculation regulator sliding vent between frig & freezer section open accordingly. Set both sides to #3 on dials if frig not cooling to less than 40 degrees, might need new cold/temp controller behind frig dial

you might have a few problems,, make sure to check the condensor is clean, also make sure the condensor fan motor is going... you might have a bad Condensor fan motor, and Ref Control or a Freon Leak @ the Evaporator... I would call a tech to check it out...

Defrost unit completely. You're frosting up. Then, avoid leaving the door open, leaving liquids and food uncovered. Clean condenser coils. If it happens again, you need refrigerant.
