Audiophile 2496 no sound

I am not a high tech person so do not understand much of what has been said in this site. I need a simple explanation as to why I can get no sound from my computer through the sound card to the stereo. I am playing Itunes and wish the sound to go through the stereo. I have the sound card installed and the cables connected from the out to the Aux in on the amplifier but receive to sound at all. The computer says the drivers are installled and everything is working correctly. What do I need to do to use this sound card? HELP!!!

Hmmm.... see at the bottom called Tray ICON. Find there may be an speaker icon double click on it. it will open Master Volume. See if you have checked any Mute check box, then sound will not be play.

and if you don't have that icon, means your driver is not installed properly.

To find out do the following:

click on Start->Control Panel->System

This will open System Properties window

Click on Hardware and then click on Device Manage

It will open Device Manager Window.
In that window if there is any icon with yellow color, it means your driver is missing.

Please if the case try to re-install the drivers.

And if you find any prblm... add comment here i will give you solution for that

Thanks
Iqbal

Connecting the card to your stereo is not that hard. since your card is working properly as you said, try color coding instead to lessen your worries. if your stereo has left and right speaker input, connect it from the sound cards' left and right output. depending if your have surround sound option, left, right, mid, sub. all goes to the corresponding channel input.

i would like you to further elaborate what your stereo is and what options does your sound card have.

Try either right click the speaker icon on the bottom right hand corner of the screen "open volume mixer" click :devices" and select the card you installed. if that fails, go to device manager and disable any other cards the the computer has so it wont conflict. if that fails take it into geeksquad at best buy to see what is going on.

How to use the behringer 802 mixer and connect it to the computer

There are a variety of ways to accomplish this, but the two most common ways are:
  1. Purchase a BEHRINGER USB interface -- like a U-CONTROL UCA222. This will allow you to use the USB port for your sound In/Out. This will also require RCA cables to connect from mixer to UCA222 unit.
  2. Or...purchase a dedicated sound card (preferred) like an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 that can be installed in your computer (not for laptop). You will also need I/O RCA cables to connect.

I just installed my M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI card (it seems this is part of the Delta series of cards?) in Windows 7 (64-bit) and it successfully registered and installed the driver, but when I disable my old sound drivers in Device Manager (the Realtek ones which is the sound integrated on the motherboard) I don't hear anything and I checked the Audiophile driver settings and see no headphone or speaker devices listed like there was in the Realtek driver. I re-enabled the Realtek driver and it seems my headphone jack is connected to the motherboard so it's using the built-in Realktek sound card. How can I get sound from my Audiophile card to my headphones? Do I have to remove the Realktek drivers completely or can I leave them just disabled in Device Manager? I don't see a Headphone jack labeled on the Audiophile card. First screenshot shows the two Realtek drivers (ATI HDMI Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio) and my M-Audio Audiophile driver in the Device Manager: http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/4369/audiophile1.png Here you can see how I right clicked on the Realtek driver and disabled it. I did this for the other one. After doing this I tried to play a movie and got no sound: http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/9194/audiophile2.png Here is my Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Manage audio devices: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/4720/audiophile3.png As you can see the Speakers (this seems to be device associated with my headphones) are showing the Realtek driver. When I disable the Realtek driver in Device Manager and then go to this same screen it doesn't even show the Speakers device any longer. BTW my headphones use a 1/8" (3.5mm) jack. I don't see anywhere on the Audiophile card where I can plug them in there are only RCA inputs and RCA outputs and the breakout cable has SPDIF inputs and outputs. None of these will accept the 1/8" jack! HELP PLEASE!
