Question about Toshiba Satellite A215-S5822 Laptop
Turned it on the other day, and all of a sudden it wants a password as soon as I power it up. It won't let me into the bios or setup. We never had it set up to ask for a password before, Don't know why it's asking now, and can't get into the laptop at all. Please help
I think there is a power on password on it. Please reset it from motherboard. I Think u need to open it. and reset. Take Professionals help if you are not aware of technical details. Else this will damage Motherboard and you no longer you wil be able to use it. Please rate and ngive me feedback

I had to reset the bios. That was the solution that I found.

If in fact there has been a password entered in the bios start-up or boot of the computer and it was not there before and all of a sudden it popped up you got a virus in your bootlog! The only way to access this is to locate the cmos battery toshiba generally locates this under the keyboard. This battery like most that are installed are soldered in place and resemble a large hearing aid battery. Here is the trick,Unplug the ac adapter and remove the power pack battery before you start If you can get a ground strap and secure it so as to prevent static discharge do so. If you are skilled enough to unsolder it that is the best way just remove one lead and let it stand for five minutes to enable the internal capacitors to discharge. If that is not your cup of tea you can momentarilly short the battery for no longer than five seconds, It is very low voltage and I have never had a problem doing this.When you reconnect the battery replace the power pack battery first then the ac adapter. When you power up the cmos will re-establish itself and go to your settings to make sure you have no password. Then exit saving you settins to the cmos . In some cases you may have to flash the bios but this should br done by a tech as it could permenently damage it...Good luck, Be mucho blessed ...Mark
