Hi,

Apparently, this is a fairly common comment on the HP Photosmart R927 with its standard battery. An aftermarket version is available. You may see a review of the short battery life here and a replacement battery here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

This is not uncommon.. Most rechargable batteries discharge about 10% of charge per day even when not in use(this varies with different batteries).. The solution for this problem is to use Hybrid batteries that do not self discharge themselves. For more information regarding the batteries of your camera please see this article.

I have the jv100 and the on off button is not working

Theres no firmware download for the jv100 on the Fuji website. Have you tried recharging the battery? Leaving a rechargeable battery for 3 weeks unused is plenty of time for it to discharge. Maybe the playback button only turns on the previews which would require less power than the full camera start up. You have nothing to lose by trying a recharge..............

Lens will not open to take a picture

The first thing to try is new lithium ion batteries (Energizer Advanced or Duracell PowerPix) or quality rechargables. Battery type makes a difference with these cameras and regular alkalines (even new ones) often just don't cut it.

If it still doesn't turn on, or open up, press and hold the playback button [>] to start up the camera in Playback Mode (resets the lens).

If all else fails, the lens is probably jammed. If you bought it less than a year ago and saved the receipt, call Polaroid tech support and they may replace it. Be prepared to be without a camera for a few weeks.

My old Panasonic Palmcorder IQ shows a red light in both switch positions-camera and VCR. Maybe yours has red for camera and green for VCR so you could tell them apart. I found that the Panasonic battery that came with the camera was the cheapest kind with the least charging time. I bought other batteries, they were good for a while, but now, many years later, they won' t hold a charge. Since I am only recording inside of my house, I have resorted to using the AC wall socket for power. I have to take the battery out of the camera. I found a power plug-in hole (like ones on cell phones) in the battery compartment. I also found one of these holes on my battery charger. My camera came with a double ended power plug. I plug one end into my camera and the other end into the battery charger. I plug the charger power cord into the wall outlet, and I have power to my older camera. Maybe you can find this double ended power cord at a store or on line.

Did you know that there are 2 kinds of batteries? Some have memories and others do not rely on a memory. The ones with memories have to be fully discharged or they will only charge a little, and keep charging less and less each time they are charged. The ones without the memory can be charged fully without being discharged fully. Check into battery information on line to get more information. Maybe you can get the non-memory kind.

Battery charging

I had the same problem, called Casio, and -- like the first solution -- they'll send a battery.  So, folks, it's a manufacturer-originated problem and kudos to Casio for owning up to it (they admitted it on the phone) and for sending the solution, a replacement battery.

Battery fully charged but cannot use camera. Applied new batteries works in review mode only Fuji Fine Piix F420

My camera had a similar problem. It would work only in review mode and as soon as photo/film mode was selected it went dead. What I did was 'discharge' the battery totally and then fully recharged it. This can be done by going to Menu-Option-Setup-Discharge. After I had done this the camera stopped going dead but the battery still had a very poor lifespan. I bought a new battery and now the camera works as new. Hope this helps-Steve.

Batteries discharge rapidly and even spontaneously

I have the same problem. I believe the camera is defective since the rapid discharge has ocurred since I bought the camera in June of this year. My sister has the same camera which she bought at least 2 years ago. Her batteries last at least triple the amount of time as mine do and she takes far more pictures that I do. As an experiment, I used her batteries in my camera and they discharged after 30 shots at the most. When the same batteries were recharged and loaded into her camera, the batteries lasted for more than 120 shots. I'm really frustrated. I bought this camera per my sister's recommendation and it cost more than $350. The store has offered to send it back to Sony for a fee but I'm afraid Sony will say I am at fault and not replace or refund.

Canon 400D won't power up...

hi
a number of new generation devices suffer from DOA (or early death)
often stuff happens on the first day or shortly after
thats where warranty comes in handy

return to vendor and replacement usually is offered without question

otherwise run a multimeter over the batteries and see if they have discharged themselves or failed
