Get paper jam error, Canon MP600 All-in-One Printer

If you don't have any paper stuck in there you will need to reset your printer. you can do this by unplugging the power cord from the back of the printer and leaving it out for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and retry

Problem with Canon MP600

Hi,

I had the same problem with my Canon Pixma MP610.

After stripping the printer down I found there is a lever in the path of the paper that operates a photo electric sensor. This can get stuck in the wrong position. To reset it get a sheet of A4 paper or (better) card fold back a 1 cm strip on the top edge of the paper and press it down flat. Open the rear cover and insert the sheet folded edge first and folded flap upper most over the top of the upper set of rubber rollers. Push it into the machine as far as it will go and then withdraw it. You should feel a little resistance or here a click as the lever is reset. You printer should now work.

Several hours of frustartion and foul language have brought you this fix. I hope it works for you.

Regards

Jon

Cannon MP600-where do you see Error Code? I just get "Paper output slot" paper is jammed; but it's not!

That error usually comes from the sensor under the platen roller. It's a tiny black plastic piece that the paper pushes when it passes under the platen roller. The end can bend when you pull out a jam, or a tiny paper scrap can hold it down. The same screen gives error codes when there are other malfunctions, the error now is just that sensor.

Error message says paper output slot. How do I

That problem is the sensor tab under the paper guides where the paper comes out to print. It gets bent or broken when you pull out a paper jam. If you can't find it, youll need a shop repair.
