according toownermanual a CD-ROM disk is comming with the unit. the softwares on th CD are

    1- USB Driver

    2- DVD-RAM Driver

    3- DVD-MovieAlbumSE

    4- MyDVD

i've checked with Panasonic, the original CD is not on their download site and has to be ordered, that would takes 3 weeks !!

my problem is if connecting the camera through USB, thePC does not see the camera.I think if at least i have the proper USB driver to stablish the link the rest for the editing stuf wouldn't be needed.

Hi!

As for MOST cameras/camcorders today, no special drivers are needed. Windows native drivers will do the job.

I guess what you're looking for is a video editing software.
If that's so, please specify the name of the actual software you need, or maybe I could recommend on some good replacements, that will meet your requirements...

Waiting for your reply,
Pelu.

    OK, I got you.

    Few things:
    1) When connecting to the computer, have you switched the camcorder to "play mode"?
    2) Did you connect the USB to a rear USB port or a front one? REAR port are ALWAYS preferable!
    3) Which operating system are you using?

    Best regards,
    Pelu.

    Hi again!

This driver should work for you, if you're using Windows XP (though it might work on other versions of Windows as well).

You'll have to manually install it.

Download the driver. A free sign-up to DriverGuide might be needed.

Extract the files from the archive to any location you'd like.

        Go to Device Manager.

Find the camcorder driver (should be marked with a yellow question mark or exclamation mark - if it's recognized by the computer - OR would be under Imaging Devices if it's already been installed by Windows).

Right click on it and select Update driver.

If you're asked if you want windows to search for the driver online, select "Not as this time". Click Next.

Select "Install from a list or a specific location (Advanced)". Click Next.

Select "Search for the best drivers in these locations" and check the 2nd option ("Include this location in the search").

Click on browse and point to the directory containing the extracted files. (Point to "usb driver" folder).

Click Next. The driver should get installed.

Click Finish and close the Device Manager.
Note: The archive also contain a folder/driver called "dvd-ram driver". I guess it's not necessary for your problem but you may install it as well if you wish...

    Good luck,
    Pelu.

    Alternate link:
Go here, right click "Dz322kxp.inf" and select "Save target as...".
Save the file and continue as written in my instructions in my last post.

    Good luck again,
    Pelu.

Sorry AGAIN - bad link... here's the right one!

  • Anonymous Apr 21, 2010

I wish you hadn't rejected my solution, as we were making some progress together...
Anyway, you don't HAVE TO use the original software that was on the disc. All you need is a DVD player software!

    2 options:
    1) Installing codecs pack, which will allow Windows Media Player to view those files (the BUP ones are the actual videos). Download and install K-Lite Codec Pack. During install make sure to make Windows Media Player the default player for ALL file types. This would be MY preferred option!

    2) Download and use a designated DVD playing software, such as BSPlayer.

Hope you'll accept my solution(s) eventually...

    Pelu.

The most important ever tip about a new digital camera or camcorder

Do NOT throw away any of the contents of the box. <br /><br />That's it- the most important tip for your new camera.<br /><br />In Fixya, a large proportion of the questions we see start out- "I lost the CD that came with my camera. How do I download pictures to my computer?"<br /><br />Another popular category is- "I lost my manual- how do I do this that or another common camera task?"<br /><br />Occasionally we see- "I lost my charger. Respected Sir, I have sony dcr-trv265e PAL digital camcorder. I am connecting this cam to my windows7 but it does not detect. I checkup the windows site they says there is no need to driver as it will...

I am having the same problem and the answer I believe is that windows 7 does not support the original Picture Package software which came with the camera. Sony offers an alternative software upgrade called PMB howeverit does not support USB and you need to have a firewire cable to transfer images from camera to computer. I unfortunately do not have a firewire port on my laptop so now I am trying to find out if there is a usb driver available.

Samsung SC-DC171 DVD Camcorder with missing software

Downloading the manual and drivers are easily found by simply Googling you camera and adding either driver or manual to the end but to get the original DVD with all the software you would have to contact Samsung themselves or their agent. It will of course cost you but not too much I'd imagine. Anoother way is to keep a check on Ebay and if you see the same model for sale send the seller an email and offer him say $10 to copy the disk and send it to you. Some camera sellers on Ebay are actually large stores so they could well have a spare they can send you. Just don't expect anything for free and offer to pay. Who knows you may end up getting it for free anyway.

Firewire on Inspiron - Connecting Canon MD 120 camcorder

Browsing over the md120 specs, included should be a software disc for the usb connector, so it shouldn't matter whether you use an adapter or the 4 to 4 cable. This disc will have the drivers and software for using the camera in conjunction with your laptop. Have you tried this download for the camera.
http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010449.asp

Also check out this link. Towards the bottom under additional features it lists software, drivers and utilities, and at the bottom under supplied accessories it lists application software/usb driver. Go to the store you purchased this at or contact Cannon support and get the disc that was supposed to be included.

JVC GD250U

Didn't you get any CDs with it? You should put a CD in and point to it. JVC only lists upgrades on it's website, but maybe you could contact them and ask for a link to the original driver. I would think it's reasonable customer service. Basicaly it really should be recognized automaticaly by XP. If you get the Driver from JVC post a link here so that other users could benefit from it. Good luck, sorry I can't offer more help.
