I have replaced a 3 speed fan controller but I can only get 2 speeds out of it. The switch contains 2 capacitors what are the wiring connections please

CANNOT CONTROL FAN SPEEDS W/ THE REMOTE. IT EITHER GOES FULL SPEED OR SHUTS OFF
