SR-7's Shutter is fully mechanic, battery is only for light meter, I advise you to get it repaired on a camera repair workshop.

Shutter Curtain Doesnt Reset Mirror

If your shutter curtain doesnt close, it may be out of Sync with the shutter button. My Minolta x700 had this problem. My camera guy fixed it for me with a couple of tinker moves. Contact your nearest camera repair shop (if available) and ask how much it would be to fix the Sync between depressing the shutter button and the curtain. it may just be some grime that has it stuck.

Minolta 700 film advance lever was working, then it wouldnt wind, now it is stuck.

Use or buy a brand new battery from store that sell lot of them.

Do not get from store that only has a few, meaning they have been sitting there for years.

I have a Minolta XG-A camera, and i can take a picture but the shutter is stuck?

My shutter does that when there is low light, or just slow shutter speed. You could try changing those settings, otherwise, last time mine got stuck, I loosened a screw on the bottom right under the shutter release button and the shutter just snapped back into its place.

I have the timer set for 10 sec, how do I make it work?

Once you have the self-timer set, start it by pressing the shutter release button as usual. The camera will focus, meter the exposure, then delay for ten seconds before firing the shutter.

Stuck shutter, and I can't advanced the film

There are one or two capacitors which go bad and cause the shutter not to work. Just google "Minolta shutter problem", and you'll find details instructions on how to replace these...I believe the defective capacitor on your camera is accessible by removing the bottom cover.

Cant figure out where the shutter release cable hooks up oncamera

Sorry my friend, but the HTsi model lacks facility for a cable release. Use the self timer on a tripod instead to eliminate camera shake

Here's the link to a user guide if you don't already have one:

Minolta Maxxum 5000

I had the same problem with a maxxum 7000. Traced it to a bit of corrosion in the battery pack. It let just enough power through to run the computer, but upon releasing the shutter, it shut off.

You might check that. corrosion can be cleaned with vinegar.
