? that shouldnt be a problem undo the screws in the back of the case unhook it from the motherboard sometimes push in torward motherboard if its caked on with dust and stuff give it a tap.

Once the site opends click, Driver Download located at the left side.
Under, Select Product Family click Notebook. (Not Netbook)
In the next window click, Aspire.
In the third window scroll down & click on, Aspire 5100.
Click the Document button. Lastly, click on the white arror to download the manual. File named: AS5110_5100_3100-ENG-OLM_0616.zip

If the drive is not your primary drive is it set as "slave" Check the jumper on the device rear. Also it may need to be formatted for your computer to recognize the space. You can do this by booting up with your OS CD
