945GZT M V1.0

Hi Ladies/Gents , I tried playing with the set up menu and after trying to make some changes, when booting up it could not even go to the setup menu. I am now stuck with the first screen showing only American Megatrends startup message .

Appreciate help .

Many thanks David

Shugster is right - had the same exact problem. After removing and replacing battery, it took 15-30 seconds for the F1 message to display. Then I could set my date time and boot sequence. After doing that and rebooting, it takes 15-30 seconds (a lifetime!) to get past that first screen - there are no beeps, it just looks hung, so be patient.

David i take it you mean you played with the bios screen ?

if so you can remove the power cord then open the side of the computer and remove the bios battery (big silver watch type battery on the mother board) leave it for around 15 mins replace the battery then the power cord you will find an error screen when you switch on.

its normally f1 to load default settings and continue the boot
that should solve it

My all processor ,Ram ok but can not display

If the RAM and the processor are ok , and you have tried booting  to BIOS with all oter devices removed and it has also failed, then the only thing left is the motherboard - it's dead, junk it.

Ram Upgrate on 945gzt-m motherboard

Sometimes motherboards have the option through BIOS to change bus speeds, but not the memory chips. Usually, the wrong speed will just not work. It won't fry anything, it will just give you long beeps and won't boot up. I've not put any onto a board like yours, but I did try 667MHz chips with one I had with the same memory specs (400/533MHz) as yours and they did not work. You might consider mail order. Newegg.com has pretty good prices. They are very reputable and have very good customer service.

Open Your system and there is a Battery which looks like a Coin. that is CMOS Battery (CR2032) Change that battery and then Reboot your system and try go to BIOS menu with DEL , F11 , F1 or F2. Either of these Buttons can Work.

This will resolve your issue

Driver upgrade

Hi papaduds,

I see what you mean, have you tried any other screensavers besides the aquarium one? It's also possible that the screensaver itself is the problem. Otherwise if the problem with the screensaver happened a couple of days ago, you can still try to do a Windows System Restore, and bring the computer back to a previous state when it was still working fine. To do this you need to goto START then ALL PROGRAMS then ACCESSORIES to SYSTEM TOOLS then select SYSTEM RESTORE, just click NEXT then choose a bold/highlighted date that you can restore the system too and just click NEXT until the end and it should do the restore process.

Anyway you can download the updated drivers at this link:

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)
