Has it been dropped or bashed at all, as it sounds like the keyboard connection plug may have come loose inside the unit. I have had a few like this on Dell units, not sure of acer but maybe worth a look.

Unplug power cord from laptop, remove battery from laptop. Open memory access panel on the bottom of the laptop. Remove memory module(s) (SO-DIMM). Plug power cord back into laptop. Turn laptop on (with the memory removed), the caps lock and scroll lock LEDs light, then the laptop shuts itself off. Unplug power cord from the laptop. Reinstall the memory modules. How to unlock the key pad on a dell latitude D600 laptop

Hi. Please do troubleshooting steps below:

1. Check to be sure your "Number Lock" or "Function Lock" keys aren't lit. These can lock out certain parts of your keyboard. If either of these is lit, press them to unlock the locked portion of your keyboard. These can be found at the top right on a laptop and between the number pad and main keys on a desktop keyboard.

2. Save all open programs using your mouse. Use your mouse to restart your computer. This will only work if your computer isn't frozen. If your mouse doesn't move, press the power button on your Dell until the computer turns off. Press it again to restart. If the issue was lack of memory or a locked program, this will unlock your keyboard. Continue to Step 3 if the keyboard is still locked.

3. Shut down your computer using your mouse or power button. Don't restart. Unplug your Dell.

4. Remove the battery if you're using a laptop by turning the laptop over and sliding the battery release latch. Slide the battery out and replace after one minute.

Have a good one!

  • Step 2 Save all open programs using your mouse. Use your mouse to restart your computer. This will only work if your computer isn't frozen. If your mouse doesn't move, press the power button on your Dell until the computer turns off. Press it again to restart. Cap Lock on or off

Your EX 110 receiver has 3 indicator lights (LEDs) that display the status of the Caps lock, Function key, and the Num lock during normal operating mode. These lights will also flash when the connect button on the receiver is pressed.
LED A: Indicates that the Caps Lock (Capital lock) key is on when lit.
LED F: Indicates that the F keys are in Standard F Keys Mode when lit and in Enhanced F Keys Mode when the LED is off.
    • Your EX 110 keyboard has an Enhanced F Keys Mode for F keys that provides additional functions you can program. See Knowledge Base article 9526.
LED 1: Indicates when the Num Lock (Number lock) key is on. This function allows the number pad to produce only numbers

FAST BLINKING GREEN & WON'T POWER ON

I had exactly this problem. After plugging and unplugging it multiple times over several weeks (even plugging it in quickly after it was unplugged but with the green light still flashing as suggested here) all to no avail, it just started working on its own one day. It worked for a few weeks and then the problem re-appeared.

    InFocus tech support recommended:
    1. Check whether the lamp door is securely closed.
    2. Check the color of the LED and the number of time it blinks. (For me, a very fast almost flickering flash)
    3. Does the fan operate? (My fan would go on when plugged in)
    4. Remove the lamp module, shake it gently and reseat the lamp module.

For me, these steps did not work. InFocus then recommended that I send it to ProjectorDoctor http://online.projectordoctor.com/, and it was diagnosed with a bad power supply. $395, but it is fully functional again. Good luck.........
