Question about Technics SL-PD887 5-Disc CD Changer

Open Question

Technics SL-PD627 5-Disc CD. problem

My Technics Cd changer SL-PD627 keeps changing from disc to disc when the "play" is pressed. It skips through each track on the disc without playing. There is a lot of noise as if it is searching , but no sound. I tried dusting , but with no result. Twice I was able to get it to function after a nuumber of trials. After replacing one of the discs to play a new one the problem reappears.
What seems to be the problem? Do I need a new CD changer?
What Technics models do they have above the SL-PD627? Please send and let me know with the approx. prices.
I can be reached at email address: davepwill@hotmail.com .

SOURCE: Disc gets jammed mid-way between CD magazine slot and inside player

Thats alot of disc this ubit holds. 110+1!! The CD changer arm mechanism sounds like is out of timming or the gears have slipped there teeth, and or the cam is broken, or theres a couple of small microswitches that can get broken as well.. The only way to work on this unit and see what the problem is, is to get a service manual and go through the mechanical alighnment and see where the problem is. Unless you can do a physical examination and know where every lob and gear is suppose to be, I do not see any other ways.

SOURCE: i have a technics sl-pd887 5disk changer that

I contacted a friend who operates a sterio shop and was convinced that fifteen years of bouncing up and down has made the laser unable to focus and read the info on the disks and the solution is to buy another one . Thanks for you're interest.

MY PANASONIC 5CD STEREO SKIPS WHILE PLAYING CD'S I HAVE USED A HEAD CLEANER AND IT STILL DIDN'T WORK.I HATE TO DISCARD IT.

The laser pick-up unit fault [weak]. You have to replace it with a new one of similar number. Contact any service technician. To replace this part, you have to take out the whole mechanism from the system; and this is a skilled work.

Why won't my CD Player won't play CD's?

the laser that reads the cd is probably dirty - if you have a can of compressed air - insert the nozzle into the cd player and blast away any dust and debris - if this doesn't help - there are cd cleaning discs available at any major retailer - just insert the cd and it cleans the laser - worst case scenario - buy a new cd player - the prices have really come down - I replaced mine with the trim kit and wire harness for $100 - only took about 1 hour - but you do need to buy the Ford stereo removal tools (available also at any good stereo store)

Why toshiba l305-s5945 media player not playing cd

Possibly it is in the wrong format. Download vlc media player, that will play anything and will let you know if the DVD player is faulty or bot.

Marantz how to connect 6005 amplifier to ipod

There are many solutions, I show two. The tip photo, shows a more expansive one. the lower photo the cheaper one. But both have two tulip plugs on the side for the amplifier and one 3,5 mm stereo telephone plug to the other side.
I tried both on a good stereo set, and could not hear different quality in sound. My guess, the quality comping from my iPods, iPhone and iPad is not the same as from my CD player. On the CD player, a better cable proved to give a better sound.

BOSe Wave Radio - Disk "not readable"

I had the same problem with the disk unreadable error and took my unit to a authorized repair dealer about 100 miles from where I live to have it fixed. It ended up costing me about $300 to have the CD unit totally replaced which is almost as much as I paid for the unit in the first place. I am like a lot of you that used the CD very little although the unit was about 3 years old. I think Bose has a problem and would like us to think it is very rare. I bought a Lifestyle surround system about 14 years ago that has a CD and have never had a problem with it so needless to say I am very disappointed in the Wave II Radio/CD system. I am fairly certain the problem will occur again, but only time will tell.
