Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

1 Answer

Garage opener/ brand garage master 1/3 HP

Garage is opened currently. If press the wall switch to close it, the opener will make noise, but the chain does not move. In other words, the door will not close. Unplug the opener or press the green reset button does not help. What is the posibble cause and which action should be taken? Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Similar problem but the trolley is attached: I can open just by clicking the switch, but if I want to close I have to keep the switch pressed up to when the door is completely close.

My Lift Master garage door will not close. It makes the closing noise but the door does not slide down. Whcan I talk to to fix this?

Sounds like you have a chain drive garage door opener and you hear a humming sound when you push the wall console. The motor is running but the chain does not move. You need to replace the gear & sprocket assembly.

Is the door stuck in the open position? If so the trolley is probably jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. Loosen the chain enough to free the trolley and then run the opener until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and turn this control 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.
