Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a ge monogram aka whirlpool ice maker that makes very little ice. Instead it chuggs after a few minutes of running and continues to do so indefinitely. I have replaced the bin themister and the control board. There is ample water pressure to the unit. the diagnostic tests are ok when you run it in clean mode. any suggestions?

Lift up the wire arm on the ice maker to shut it off then put your finger where the ice cubes should be and if the water isn't frozen you may have a cooling problem listen to see if you hear the freezer fan running then look at the bottom of the freezer at the back wall where the vents are and see if they are blocked with frost and reply to me

Cutter grid is not getting hot

I need you to look around your ice maker for a package containing a wiring diagram. I have information related to the Whirlpool 15 inch and 18 inch ice makers but for some reason GE did not publish the repair manual for your model. I want you to check the voltage going into the WR62X10015 Transformer

You should be getting at least 120 volts ac. Then test the voltage coming out of the transformer. What is the voltage coming out of the
WR62X10015 Transformer? Check the control board area for a fuse that goes to the

I don't have the service manual for this model without having to purchase one but I have a link to Whirlpool Service Manuals which is very much the same when it comes to diagnostics. There are several reasons that may cause this problem as you described. They are water control valve sticking causing warm water to continue to flow over freeze plate and stopping ice production. A defective condenser fan or a very dirty condenser coil. Your ice maker is electronic and the electronic board inside has failed. Not much you can do in this case except replace the ice maker. Your Monogram uses a=> WR30X10093 Ice Maker Assembly

MY GE MONOGRAM ZIS420D FREZZER IS NOT MAING ANY ICE. WHAT SHOULD I DO

check for continuity on the ice maker water fill solenoid valve in the lower rear area of the refrigerator, then remove cover from front of ice maker, and there are 2 gears inside this cover, follow the instructions on the ice maker by this gear and turn it the way it tells you to,this will initiate a manual ice production, you will see the gears turn by themselves after you help turn these gears initially, then you should see water enter from fill tube in the back of the ice maker if the fill tube isnt froze over,if no ice production occurs the ice maker thermostat could be open(bad) or if it makes ice but doesn't push it out the heater below the maker may be open(bad)

CLR will work great, just rinse the ice maker very well after cleaning the calcium deposits and throw out the first few batches or bins of ice produced after the cleaning process. Good luck !

GE Monogram refrigerator icemaker problem

This is normal if you have previously used the crushed ice mode. The refrigerator will continue to dispense crushed ice for some time until the reserves are depleted. If this continues for a longer period then shut down the refrigerator and remove the dispenser compartment, clean any remaining ice and reinstall it. Start the power supply and wait 5 hours for the ice to form. Use the cube mode and you will surely obtain ice cubes.
