Question about Philips 32PF5320A 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Volume and chanel number stays displayed

Whenever we change channel or increase/decrease volume the channel number and/or volume status bar stays displayed on the screen until we press "STATUS EXIT" button.
Secondly, we are only able to switch between the channels by using up or down button, cannot switch by pressing channel number.
Thirdly, when pressing "close captioning" button, the close captioning will not display.
We changed the battery on the remote and the problem didn't go away. Any ideas what can be wrong? Thank you for your help.

I put my TV in a mode where channel number is always on screen. That happened before and I forgot how I fixed it. It's not in the manual, I plugged TV set off, tried all menus and I still got the channel number on screen...

without using the remote the tv changes channels intermittently. There is no pattern to it. Even if you turn the tv off using the remote it switches itself back on.

Volume turns to zero constantly

Sounds like your volume down button is jammed in on the set, you may need to take it to a repair shop if you can't free it up from the outside.

Remote control work to change channel but, will not work to increase or decrease the volume

Is that a universal remote? If so then probably you just haven't found the appropriate code for using with your TV.

If it is the original remote, then the problem is more complex and you may have to change main board.

Volume and menu does not display

I had this problem on my Aquos (LC-46D62U). It was NOT a hardware problem. I recommend turning off the television. Next unplug the television for 5 to 10 seconds. This resets something for the television. Plug it back in and turn on the television. You should now be able to get your volume and other on-screen displays.
