You might have problems on cpu heating or some other part heating... also try a new power supply... otherwise if you are clueless you can find help on similar problems, i have explained a process to check hardware in those cases... search problems by "Failed POST"

On the k7s5a motherboard i am getting an error stating acpi not supported by the bios

Hi s_gehring,

Have you installed something new on your board? What this is telling you is that the ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) does not work with something on the board. Or check your bios setting and make sure you have ACPI turned on.

Thanks Mark

Elite Group K7S5A Boot Problem

Try this... Remove all cards, hard drive(s) and cables, such as cdrom and floppy, except the video connection so that you can see what is going on. Go to the bios setup. Set all of the bios settings to default as you exit to reboot. Then try again. By setting the bios, that should take care of it. Then replace the other items, cards one by one and watch the reactions.
Hope it works.

I am working on a friends computer and he has a k7s5a pro Mobo..

Maybe it requires DDR2 or DDR3 RAM. As it is there are only 2 DIMM slots, so check the FSB. If it does not match asper the manual then you might need to replace the RAM with the appropriate one....sodeep
