The C25 stores toner in a waste toner container. On the front of that container there is rectangular clear window that fits into a sensor when installed into machine. The sensor passes a beam of light through that window. When the bottle is full there is toner inside that clear plastic window which stops the light from making it through the window and the machine will tell you the waste toner is full. Just dumping the container out will not clear that window and by putting it back in the machine you will get the same toner full message. If you are going to try to reuse that container you will have remove the black plastic cover that is glued to the container above the clear plastic. Then use something like a Qtip to clean all the toner off of that clear window(much easier and faster to just replace in with a new container). if you still get the waste toner full message after you install it then remove it and wipe off the sensor that the clear window sits in. This will clear the message and you can continue your copy job.
This almost always means the toner cartridge is empty. This is especially true if you can hear sort of a thump noise about every 5 seconds or so. When these toner cartridges run out the machine will still try to add toner. If it does not get it, it will eventually shut down and turn on the red toner light which looks like a stack of 6 dots. Just turn the machine on and let it run. After a few minutes it will shut down and turn on the toner light. If not reply back.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Machine is still saying to exchange toner because toner is not feeding into the machine.
to supply the toner always do this,
1-insert the new toner bottle in the toner section and close the cover.
2-Press "Utility/Counter" Button.
3-click on "USER CHOICE" or "USER SETTING"
4-click on "Toner Supply"
5-Toner bottle will start moving and hence the error message will not appear again.
When the Toner Life End LED flips on, requires you to replace the cartridge,
even when there's still toner left in the cartridge. The machine
detects end of life by shining a light through from one side to the
other. To circumvent the detection mechanism, remove the cartridge and put
a piece of masking tape over or jam a little bit of paper into the clear opening/circle on the right side
of the toner cartridge, and then pop the cartridge back in. Eventually,
you'll start seeing streaks, and then you'll know that the cartridge is
Yes, the machine will only make single copies if the toner light is on. Was the toner cart genuine Copystar? Or perhaps Kyocera cart? The machine is made by Kyocera and marketed under both name brands, however, the toner carts are different for both machines. I have seen many times that aftermarket carts will not always work properly.
A common mistake is that people think that the waste toner needs to be emptied and instead the toner needs to be replaced --- and vice versa. Check to make sure that the toner bottle is not empty. Also, if you made copies that took ( used ) more toner then the machine was able to replenish, the machine has not had a chance to catch up. Place a white sheet of paper on the platen glass and make blank white copies. You may only be able to get 1-2 copies at first but as the device catches up with the toner replenish you should be able to make more. The blank copies you make -- do NOT put that paper right back into the machine. Lay it flat and let it cool, this will help prevent unwanted jamming due to heat build up in the paper. IF you have good amount of new toner in the machine, gently tap the front line ( or rear line) that feeds the used toner into the waste bottle. Sometimes the waste toner will clog and back up into the machine giving false 'waste toner full' message.
