I would suggest as a lower priced option this link.
I would rather have an external battery charger than trust my laptop to person or persons unknown.

I'd suggest you do what people are suggesting and update the bios.
http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?modelId=27
Go here to download the bios. It even gives you instructions on how to do it.
I'd also remove the battery and unplug it from the wall.
Then press and hold the power button for 1 minute.
Put the battery back in and see if it turns on.

I charge my battery fully, then use it for 10-15min then close it overnight and the next morning it is dead again????

Are you sure the battery is good it maybe its not holding its charge. . Try removing the battery from the laptop after using it 10 to 15 min see what happens next morning when you put it back in.. Make a note of percentage charge before removeing it on the battery power meter.and again next morning. Hope this has helped you.

Not charging, green light on cord is lit up but wont charge

cthom10388

In regards to your notebook not charging this could be one of 2 things if your AC Adapter is showing a green light. Ether your battery is bad or there is something wrong with the charging mechanism.

If you are still in warranty I would call Acer about getting a replacement battery and/or motherboard because the charging mechanism is part of the motherboard.

Note another test you can do if you know someone that has the same model of Acer you can try your battery in there system. If their system charges the battery then you know the problem is not with the battery.

Hope this helps

My compaq presario c500 doesn't respond to the start button

try to turn on the laptop without the battery and only the power cord plug in.

if your laptop works with this you need new battery or update bios ( there might be fix for battery monitor)

if not, call service support, might be motherboard issue

let me know an update

Want charge Battery

It's the motherboard for sure. Did they say whether or not your model was under warranty.

You can check that info out here:

I have a toshiba laptop, and in the last few weeks something weird started happening. When the laptop is plugged into the AC, the power meter in windows tells me that the power source is still batteries,...

Change your AC charger.
It's NOT charging "When the laptop is plugged into the AC, the power meter in windows tells me that the power source is still batteries, and the battery level drops by about 1% every few hours"
That's the reason why: "battery has completely died"
If you do not change it you'll continue to "still it gives me the same low battery indication and will not turn on. "

No power at all for my Dell Latitude D505

Sounds Like From Your Description That You Need Your DC Jack Repaired/Replaced..

THe DC Jack Is the Port where Your AC Adapter Plug Plugs into on the laptop.... THis can be proprietary or non proprietary.... But Either way, the Old Faulty Jack Needs To Be Desoldered and Removed, THe Board Cleaned and a New DC Jack Soldered On.. You Will Then Be able To Power On Laptop With AC Charger and Will again Be Able To CHarge The Battery..

Battery not charging...

My impression is that you might have a defective cord if you still have your old adapter and has the same power specification try this first.

If the battery is hot and does not charge you might have a defective battery . Better have it checked at the service center before buying a brand new battery
