First make one wire your ground wire by screwing the end with a connector into the frame of your car trunk, on bare metal, then connect your remote wire to a fuse that is only on when your car is on. then connect the 12volt wire to the postive side of your battery with a connector. depending on the size of your amp, the gauge wire you need will vary. On your 12volt wire you may need to place a fuse in between where it connects to your battery and your amp to insure that the power will be shut off when the fuse blows instead of blowing your amp if something were to happen.

My red light on my 1000w amp wont turn on to power my subs. the blue one is the one one to turn on can anyone help me

make sure that you have a good ground, make sure you have the right amp turn on wire, and your power wire is fused, best solution is to have it professionally installed! Amp install is very basic if you are having a hard time with that, I wouldn't attempt to try it or have one of your buddies install it! FRIENDS DONT LET FRIENDS INSTALL!

It keeps blowing a fuse

Generally, if you are using the manufactures fuse rating you can use a slightly higher rating and it will resolve the blowing fuses. Fuses supply resistance, if there isn't enough resistance you'll fry the system board in the amplifier. But if you have 25 amp fuses installed, install 30 amp, if you have 30 install 35 amp, 35 install 40. Anything higher will damage the amp.

Hope this helps.

A rare chance, something may be internally wrong with the amp and shorting it out which will blow the fuse.

Use the incorrect wiring of subs to the amp, you'll blow fuses and damage the amp from it turning off consistently. The amp should be running at 2 ohm stereo stable or 4 ohm mono stable.

Very few amps are designed to run at 1 ohm or less. Not to mention the subs can't handle it.

How to install a kill switch for kenwood amp? i have a 2002 ford taurus, factory radio. which means (this thing does not have an RCA wire behind the radio). where do i install the kill switch then?...

Run the remote on the amp to a known switched power. (one that goes on and off with the switch) Does not have to be associated with the wires in the stereo.

My amp comes on but when i hook my subs up it dont have any sound

Hello zachosborne1,

You do not say whether the amp has worked properly before or if this a new install.

If it's a new install, I'd check all of the amp connections, particularly the input, the filter settings, and the adjustments. If the amp was in and working properly, check the onboard fuses.

Hope this helps.

Need to install my stereo in my car with out the harness for the stereo

It would be best just to buy a new wire harness for the stereo & the aftermarket harness for the vehicle. If you give me the year, make & model of the vehicle & the model # of the cd player I can get you a price on the two pieces you need.
