Here is a step by step instruction on Syncing your Wii remotes to you console!!http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/setupWiiRemote.jsp#Synch
Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console
Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the
Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote
included with your system should already be synchronized
to your console. However, all additional Wii Remotes you
use with your system also need to be synced in order to function
properly..
There are two different modes of synchronizing (syncing):
STANDARD MODE -
The Standard Mode procedure is used when adding additional Wii Remotes
to your system or if you want to re-synchronize your original Wii
Remote. Once synchronized, the Wii Remote will stay synced to the
console unless you overwrite the settings by syncing the remote to a
different console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please click here.
ONE TIME MODE - This mode allows
you to temporarily use your remote on a Wii console other
than your own, or to use a friend's remote on your console.
It can also be used to change the order of the Wii Remotes,
without the need to turn off the Wii console. One Time Mode
does not delete the Standard Mode setting stored in the Wii
Remote. In this mode, the Wii Remote will only communicate
with the Wii console while the power is on. When the power
is turned off, the Wii Remote will lose its sync with the
Wii Console. For instructions on One Time Mode setup, please click
here.
Note: Only a Wii Remote in Standard Mode can turn the Wii console power ON or OFF.
Standard Mode Synchronization Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote (how to).
Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console.
Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you
wish to sync up.
Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on
the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release
the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.
When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that
is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added
to your system.

One Time Mode SynchronizationNote: This mode temporarily removes Standard Mode synchronization setup for all Wii Remotes until the power of the Wii console is turned off. When the power is turned back on again, the Standard Mode settings will return.
Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.
Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.
Select the Reconnect Option.
Press the 1 and 2 Buttons at the same time on the Wii Remote that you want to synchronize with the console. If you are syncing multiple Wii Remotes, press the 1 and 2 Buttons on each Wii Remote immediately (without a significant pause) in the order you want them synced. The order in which you synchronize Wii Remotes determines the player order (1 through 4) for multiplayer games. The Player LED will blink during the syncing process. When the blinking stops, the connection is complete.
Set Up and Use of the Nunchuk
Feed the cord on the Wii Remote's wrist strap through the connector hook.
Insert the Nunchuk plug into the Enternal Extension Connector on the bottom of the Wii Remote.
Note: Place your hand through the wrist strap of the Wii Remote and hold the remote firmly in your hand. Slide the strap lock up so that the strap will not fall off of your wrist. Do not over tighten the strap lock so that it's uncomfortable. It should just be light enough to hold the wrist strap in place. (For more information on using the wrist strap, click here).
That is quite unusual behaviour from your Wii. In the forst instance it would be a good idea to RE-SYNCHRONIZE your remotes and balance board with your Wii
Standard Mode Synchronization
Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote and that they are full/charged.
Go to the Wii Menu. (Channel Grid)
Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.
Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.

This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.
Option 2:
There might be a glitch in the software which can often be fixed by re-downloading a fresh copy. Download the latest update by going to Settings->Console settings->Internet->Select your connection type->test connection. After the connection it will ask if you would like to perform a system update.
Option 3
If you are still having problems, try to identify if it is only happening when using a combination of some of the devices. Do you have the problem when the balance board is off?
There is also the possibility that there is a electrical fault with your wii. If the above does not help contact Nintendo support at http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/
Good luck

Installing the Batteries
Important Note: If you would like to use rechargeable batteries, the only type of battery
recommended are Nickel Metal Hydride batteries. When it comes
to using rechargeable batteries, you must follow manufacturer
guidelines for safety and proper usage. Failure to do so could
cause damage to the Wii Remote and void the warranty.
Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote and insert two
AA batteries, using the plus (+) and minus (-) guides in the Wii Remote's
battery compartment to insert the batteries in the proper direction.
Be sure to insert the minus (-) end first when inserting new
batteries, and remove the plus (+) end first when replacing the
batteries.

but try this first
Synchronizing the Wii Balance Board with your Wii Console IMPORTANT: To operate correctly, the Wii Balance Board must be synchronized with the Wii console using Standard Mode Synchronization. Follow the steps below to synchronize the board to the console.
This procedure must be followed for each Wii Balance Board compatible Game Disc.
These synchronization settings will be saved even if the console is turned off.
This procedure can be completed only if a compatible Game Disc is running in the console.
Press the EJECT Button on the front of the Wii console and remove any game disc if necessary. Insert a Wii Balance Board compatible Game Disc.
Use the Wii Remote to select the Disc Channel on the Wii Menu screen and select START.
Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console. NOTE: Close the SD Card slot cover when you are finished with the synchronization procedure.
Remove the Battery Cover on the bottom of the Wii Balance Board. NOTE: Replace the Battery Cover when you are finished with the aynchronization procedure.
Press the SYNCHRO Button (SYNC.) on the Wii Balance Board. The Power LED on the board will start blinking (for up to about 20 seconds).
Press the SYNCHRO Button (SYNC.) on the console while the Power LED on the board is blinking.
IMPORTANT: Do not press and hold the SYNCHRO Button on the Wii console down for more than 10 seconds. This will delete all of the Standard Mode synchronization information for all Wii Remotes that you use with that console.
The Power LED will stop blinking and light steadily once the synchronization is complete. You are now ready to play the Wii Balance Board compatible Game Disc. Please refer to the instruction booklet for the Game Disc you are using for further information on gameplay.
Only one Wii Balance Board can be synchronized to a Wii console at a time. Up to a total of 10 Wii Remotes and accessories can be synchronized to a console at any time with the Standard Mode procedure. If additional synchronizations are made, the oldest existing ones will be overwritten.
The Wii Balance Board can only be synchronized to one console at a time using the Standard Mode procedure. If you change the console you are using the board with, you will have to repeat the synchronization procedure each time.
The Wii Balance Board uses the Player 4 (P4) connection. If a Wii Remote is actively using P4, that remote will be disconnected while the board is being used.
