my optoma hd 70 runs for about 10 minutes and flickers different colors all of a sudden and then powers down.

same problem, after powering the projector it works fine for 15 minutes then colors get really distorted like rainbows and stuff then the red diode starts on the projector, signifying the lamp. it has 1500 hours on it though. however this only happens when connected to the pc, if i play xbox on it it can go for hours without problems. i just unplug the cable to the projector and let it cool for a min, then plug in xbox and its good to go. strange no?

Probably a dying lamp. How many hours does it have on it?

You might try carefully removing the lamp and then putting it back in. Perhaps it has a slightly bad connection that is causing it to consume too much power and it shuts down.

Dear Sir, I have a NEC LT 260 K Lcd projector. The lamp of the lcd was busted.I replaced it with a new lamp. After replacing the lamp the lamp is not lighting when projector is put ON, I think the...

the clicking sound hopefully is the high voltage trying to start the lamp, but for some reason there may be a connection problem between the lamp and the projector power supply.
take the lamp out.

look at the lamp and check that the 2 connecting plugs are ok.
then look inside the projector at the power sockets that connect to the lamp (when it's installed).
check that the pins are not damaged or pushed down too far to prevent the lamp plugs making a proper connection with the power sockets in the unit.

Red power, blinking red temp

Hi,

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.

  • A flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
  • A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the projector is turned back on, service the projector.
Goodluck..

Replace the 2 bulbs. Unit powered up correctly and turned on like normal. Then Lamp1 and Lamp 2 indicator lights blinked (Indicating Start UP). After some period of time, it switched to Red 6 times blink...

1 red blink every 2.5 seconds indicates a cover error-- for this check the lamp cover
2 times red blinks very 2 seconds indicates temperature error. for this let the projector cool off check filters and fans that there is no blockage of air for proper cool down
3 red blinks every every 2 seconds Power error. incorrect voltage input or internal malfunction.
4 red blinks every 2 seconds indicates Fan Error check the fans make sure they are working and not blocked or need replacing.
i have nothing on 6 ligths go ahead reconect and check for proper count. hope this information helps.
Best of Luck.

Ray.

Projector turns off after 5 seconds

You have a classic temp sensor problem. Its a fail safe on theprojector, basically a fuse that bridges the main power cables. Lookslike a little pot, With a white ceramic head.
Now what it does, Is the white ceramic head rises as the unit getshotter, and thus breaks the power circut. All you need to do is, openup the unit, locate the sensor (its mounted next to the lamp on yourprojector) And push the little white head back down, thus closing thecircut, and restoring power supply.
Here is the full repair schematic to guide you. :)
