You need to take every ram, board and cable out of place... then clean it all perfectly... (isopropilic alcohol is the best to use in cleaning hardware) then reconnect it all and just try powering on with just motherboard, cpu and ram, NOTHING ELSE... if the system starts... you must connect all pieces, one by one, booting the system after includding each thing to isolate the problem if there is one... after all peaces are back togeter, test the system normally.

IF MOTHER does not boot only with cpu and ram... you have hardware problems either in mother, ram or cpu or power supply and you will need to replace hard... good luck

I'm running dual Princton Monitors. This morning in booting up my computer one screen stayed completely blank with the message"For best picture quality change resolution to 1280x1024. This monitor...

possible that the video card has packed it in and is not responding for duel monitors
you could always try going to control panel , display section and check the settings of both monitors and the drivers for both monitors
to check the problem monitor change the setting from main display from the good unit to make the other monitor the main display
it should change over and the first monitor will then go bad

Would A 1GB PC3200 run in the K7s5a alone.

According to the specs the max amount of ram is 1 GB and max speed is pc2100 so a pc3200 would not run on it unless the board was able to clock the speed down of that single stick of ram.

I was not able to find the max amount of ram per slot on a quick search but most likely it would be 512 mb per slot for a max of 1 GB between the two DDR slots.

at Newegg you can find DDR 266 1 GB kits (2 x 512mb) which would get you the 1 GB of ram.

Elite Group K7S5A Boot Problem

Try this... Remove all cards, hard drive(s) and cables, such as cdrom and floppy, except the video connection so that you can see what is going on. Go to the bios setup. Set all of the bios settings to default as you exit to reboot. Then try again. By setting the bios, that should take care of it. Then replace the other items, cards one by one and watch the reactions.
Hope it works.

Most common issue's for not being able to boot PC system.
1. Swap power cord/replace. Check video connection cable,
Check monitor power cable. (Check wall outlet is good).
2. Reset cmos/bios. (Need to use manual for board to reset)
3. (No display on monitor, can hear fan's running & LED's on case light/flash). Remove & re-seat video card, same for memory. (While in PC check all power connections & data cables to devices.
4. Fans not running & no LEDs do not light/flash. Power supply may be bad.

Luck!

EliteGroup K7S5A (does not say pro on the board)

According to their website, the board can take:

AMD Athlon XP (Throughbred up to XP2600+)
AMD Athlon (including Thunderbird)
AMD Duron (including Morgan)

You can then overclock the processor with a BIOS upgrade available at http://www.ocworkbench.com/2002/ecs/k7s5abios/cheepobios.htm.

It has one 4X AGP slot so it can take any AGP video card, assuming the card is backwards compatible (8x -> 4x).
