Question about Acer Aspire 5720-6661 Notebook PC
I have been experiencing the same problem.
The problem will either be:
-overheating, especially if not allowing the acer to ventilate underneath. This is a major problem with this make of laptop. Acer have actually recommended taking the battery out when running on power so it does not charge all the time (to prolong life or stop heat i guess). Also, try proppingn up the laptop so about 1/2 inch gap underneath of proper airflow. If you are desperate to use it on ur knee, use a tea tray or similar.
- If it cuts out when you move the laptop maybe a faulty power jack, test by giving the power cable a 'wiggle' and if it cuts out, may indicate the power jack is not charging properly or some other power fault, which is a much more serious problem. Take to nearest pc expert to see if there is a quick fix asap if you suspect this is the case.
I experienced the same problem and without attempting to keep it cool or seeing that the power jack is broken, you may have to pay a hefty fix if you are out of warranty as it may corrupt your motherboard (which is what acer said hapened to me when i sent it off for repair) or overheat vital parts of the system (especially when playng games / videos or pushing the spec of a laptop to max as it works harder).
Hope that helps :-)

I am a teacher and all staff at our school have been given ACER 5720s - we are all experiencing the same problem - if anyone knows of a solution it would be great - very annoying to be in the middle of showing a powerpoint when it decides to cut out. I only use mine on a desk.
